Long established authentic Spanish wine and tapas bar- located in historic conservation area of Emerald Hill in Singapore
August 30th, 2012
Que Pasa is a fine example of the classic Spanish style of wine and tapas bar, where fine wines are enjoyed in a vibrant social setting, accompanied by servings of small plates of Spanish snacks. Established back in early 1995, Que Pasa ( Spanish for “what’s happening?”) is one of the longest continually operated wine bars in Singapore, and pre-dates the more recent explosion of interest in all things wine related in Asia. Under the same management since its opening, Que Pasa has established a strong reputation for offering a consistently authentic wine and tapas experience for a discerning clientele of both local residents and visitors. Housed within a restored colonial era “Peranakan” terrace house, the interiors exude the rustic atmosphere of an “old style” wine bar and Spanish provision shop. Que Pasa houses an impressive cellar collection of over 100 premium wine labels from many of the finest wineries world wide. Accompanying the wines are authentic selections of tapas plates, the signature Sangria wine punches, plus sherries, brandy, port and Havana cigars. Que Pasa is under the same management as its immediate neighbours- on one side the renowned No.5 Emerald Hill Cocktail Bar, and on the other side, the equally popular Ice Cold Beer. Regular events organised at Que Pasa include wine tasting sessions hosted by famous international vintners, and each month, sourced from a different wine region, a special “Wine of the Month” is promoted with special offers by the glass and bottle. Refer to the Que Pasa Facebook Page for information on the monthly specials. The relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere of Que Pasa has provided a warm welcome to appreciative guests for over 17 years now- such longevity reflecting a consistency and quality of service. Always popular for sharing a bottle of fine wine and conversations among friends, Que Pasa serves up the true Spanish-style tapas bar experience.
