Latest branch of venerable Bangkok cafes- newly opened at chic Groove@Central World dining complex

Greyhound Cafe, with the recent opening of their latest branch, have joined other celebrated local and international restaurants, gastrobars and cafes at the new Groove@Central World complex in the heart of Bangkok’s most popular shopping and tourist district. The newly built complex accommodates a carefully curated assemblage of dining and drinking venues in a boldly modern two-level landmark construction- conceived to entice local urbanites, office workers and visitors with its variety of prestigious all-day dining and nightlife options.
While maintaining the core DNA of the unique Greyhound Cafe aesthetic and dining experience (a Bangkok icon since its inception in 1997), the new branch also embraces its new location with some futuristic art installations and design elements. Regular Greyhound patrons will immediately feel at ease with the familiar decor blend of industrial chic and understated sophistication, and the appetizing menu that combines Thai and Western comfort dishes, elevated with the signature Greyhound “twist”. Guests can select from the same extensive variety of cafe dishes featured at other Greyhound cafes, supplemented with a special new menu created for the new branch only. Another new feature at the Groove@Central World branch is the addition of a takeaway counter where office workers and shoppers can select from salads, hot and cold sandwiches, desserts and bakery- as well as coffee and tea.
Located on the first floor, Greyhound Cafe is open all day from 11 am in the morning through to 10 pm at night. Seating in the main cafe space is at generously spaced tables and black leather banquette settings, with additional casual seating available in the outside terrace area across the facade.

In designing the new cafe interior, Greyhound have embraced the concept of “Art Space” – blending distinctive art installations with an “outer space” theme- superimposed onto the hallmark “Greyhound” industrial chic design aesthetic. A specially commissioned giant mobile installation of chromed, interconnected “balloon art” shapes dramatically suspend from the ceiling. And channeling the space theme- the main internal wall is covered by a massive photographic mural of the Apollo 11 spacecraft standing on its launchpad.

Diners at Greyhound Cafe can select from an extensive variety of delicious cafe dishes- including pasta, salads, Thai classics, rice and noodles, plus bakery and the decadent desserts from the Sweet Hound menu. Specially developed menu items for the new cafe include savory pinwheels of either tuna & spinach, or bacon & tomato; hot dishes such as Spinach and Eggplant Lasagna; and sandwiches (hot or cold) like the Ham and Gruyere Cheese Croissant . A special range of coffees and teas supplement the refreshing beverage specialties synonymous with Greyhound- floats, granitas, healthy fruit cocktails, etc.
