The Diplomat Bar is situated off the main lobby of the Conrad Bangkok Hotel– in the prestigious foreign embassy district of central Bangkok.
The expansive bar features a warm, comfortable ambience with extensive use of dark timbers, soft silk furnishings and with some “Thai” design elements including subtly placed artifacts around the interior walls.
A large circular bar dominates the space, and in addition to the seats around the bar, there are numerous tables, chairs and sofas for relaxing and taking in the atmosphere. Live jazz bands are a nightly (except Sundays) feature of the Diplomat Bar– and the band area with grand piano is directly adjacent to the central bar.
The drinks selection is extensive as would be expected at a premium venue such as Diplomat Bar.
Cocktails are a speciality- with everything from the “classic” cocktails such as martinis, margaritas, mojito, Singapore Sling etc, to distinctive signature “Thai” themed cocktails such as a Ginger Martini– mixed from Grey Goose Vodka, fresh ginger and lime juice.
A comprehensive range of single malt Scotch, Japanese whiskys, and cognacs would satisfy the most discerning connoisseur, and many other premium spirits are also available.
Wine lovers can choose from French champagnes, French and Italian vintage wines, plus a wide selection from “New World” wine districts.
And beer drinkers are not overlooked- with local and imported draught beers and many imported bottled beers.
Diplomat Bar is open daily for lunch and dinner, and also afternoon tea from 2:30pm – 5:30 pm.
A large selection of hot and cold bar snacks are always available- including Italian parma ham & rock melon, Sushi-sashimi – California Rolls, satays, spring rolls, mini-burgers- and a selection of fresh oysters from the Oyster Bar near the entrance.
