Ballymoon’s Spirits Bar is a contemporary bar that was opened in 2003 in the space directly above Muddy Murphy’s Irish Pub (same ownership and management) at the Orchard Hotel Arcade in the busy Orchard Road entertainment and shopping area of Singapore. The bar concept is to cater for a discerning customer looking to enjoy premium spirits, cocktails and champagne in an elegant, refined environment.

The bar occupies a long , narrow space with full height glass windows overlooking the busy street outside. Entered either through a dark timber doorway at the ground level of the Orchard Hotel Arcade, or externally, up a few steps from the Claymore Road curbside entrance that leads down to Muddy Murphy’s Irish Pub. The interior features a long bar across the back wall, with some lounge seating and tables at either end of the room. Comfortable bars stools line the dark mahogany bar counter, and there are high tables and chairs arranged along the window front offering excellent vistas over the activity outside. The decor colors are muted- dark timber tables and chairs with plush red and orange colored coverings, timber floor, and elegant red curtain drapes along the windows. The lighting is subdued to create a comfortable mood for enjoying the drinks. A couple of large screens are strategically placed at either end of the room for those wanting to follow live sports action.

As a spirits bar, the drinks emphasis is on offering a large range of signature cocktails, single malt whiskies and premium spirits. also available are champagnes and wines, and fresh international premium draft and bottled beers. The signature cocktails include Chocolate or Lychee Martinis, and seasonal fresh fruit martinis such as mangosteen, starfruit and strawberry. Ballymoon’s weekly promotion- “Friday – tini” – has flavored martinis at S$10 nett, every Friday all night. A nightly happy hour from 5pm to 7:30pm , plus other promotions on drinks are advertised on the menu boards behind the bar.

True to it’s Irish roots, Ballymoon’s serves up classic pub dishes for dinner, and also a selection of “bar bites” that are available from 5pm until late. Orders can also be taken from the extensive new “gastropub” menu prepared in the Muddy Murphy’s kitchen below Ballymoon’s.

Ballymoon’s Spirits Bar provides an excellent option for those seeking to enjoy quality cocktails and drinks in a stylish, elegant setting, somewhere less “rowdy” than the typical pub or sports bar on a busy weekend night.
