SEVVA boasts an incredible location, set in the rooftop penthouse of one of Hong Kong’s most prestigious shopping/office buildings, with breathtaking 360 degree views of many of the iconic buildings of Hong Kong, and across Victoria Harbour to the Kowloon skyline. Located in the heart of the Central financial district, SEVVA unabashedly targets a discerning and affluent clientele with a superior level of sophistication and style that differentiates it from some other rooftop venues that may appeal to a more populist crowd. Opening in 2008, SEVVA is the creation of local Hong Kong style and luxe icon- Bonnie Gokson. An expression of the accumulation of a lifetime’s experience in fashion, luxury retail, travel and entertaining, the personal imprint of the creator is evident across all dimensions of the SEVVA experience- from the interior design, the tabletop accessories, the cuisine selections, and the featured artworks. The concept is to provide a sophisticated, yet relaxed, lifestyle experience for guests – whether for fine dining, or lounging on the outdoors terrace with a drink and the spectacular views. It is a venue ideal for entertaining of business guests, or just sharing a drink with friends.
The architectural design for SEVVA was a collaboration between New York firm Tsao & McKown Architects and the local Team HC in Hong Kong. The interior comprises a number of distinctly style spaces- with two main dining rooms- Bankside and Harbourside, the Taste Bar, and the Terrace. The entry lobby on the 25th floor (accessed by dedicated lifts from the building Concierge level)- features a cake corner- Ms. B’s Sweets– which offers a selection of exquisite cakes. Opening off from the entry hallway is the Taste Bar– a room dedicated to the appreciation of signature cocktails, fine wines and selections of “Small Plates” tapas style dishes. At either end of a passageway that runs the entire length of one side of the interior are the dining rooms- Bankside is oriented towards the inland buildings of the financial district, and at the opposite end is Harbourside– overlooking the harbour and Kowloon skyline. The passageway also functions as the Lounge– with comfortable sofa seating, flowers, and a verdant green “Garden Wall” of vegetation running full height along the section towards the harbour end. each dining space has it’s own personality and style- Bankside overlooks the headquarters of HSBC and provides a more formal environment for dining. The Harbourside space exudes a more chic luxe- with a bright, glamorous ambiance. The outdoor Terrace extends around three sides of the rooftop and presents the stunning views over the city and harbour. Comfortably cushioned faux rattan outdoor lounges are clustered around the wooden decking area, and extendable awnings provide protection from rain showers.
The menu at SEVVA represents a cross fertilization of cuisine styles which quintessentially is the Hong Kong dining tradition. The emphasis is on uncomplicated dishes that blend authentic Chinese tastes with the multitude of influences from Europe and regional Asia that Hong Kong has absorbed since it’s colonial days. The variety of dishes include European style Sea Bass & King Scallop on Asparagus cream; freshly made Southern Indian Dosas ; Japanese style Bento Boxes; Claypot Rice; Shanghaiese wonton; and Cantonese Black Bean Chicken. The Lunch and Dinner menus are extensive with a huge variety of dishes and side dishes to tempt every palette- including a recently updated Vegetarian Menu. High Tea is served every afternoon, and there is an All Day Brunch Menu on Saturdays.

SEVVA engaged a New York mixologist to create the signature cocktails that are a highlight of the bar. Some examples are photographed below. The various bars within SEVVA are also serving a large selection of champagnes, fine wines, premium spirits and local and imported beers.
