Garibaldi is a name familiar to most Singaporean epicureans- a well respected, contemporary Italian restaurant that has developed a strong following. In December 2010, the owners of Garibaldi opened their new branch in Malaysia- within the luxurious Bangsar Village lifestyle mall, in the up-market Bangsar residential area of Kuala Lumpur. Garibaldi in KL occupies a conspicuous street level corner site within the Bangsar Village complex- and spreads over two levels- with the fine dining Garibaldi restaurant on the upper level, and the more casual bar and lounge, GARIBAR, on the street level.
The prominent facade of Garibaldi reveals an open front terrace area, with the bar and lounge located in the indoor space. The large GARIBAR logo on the color changing LED display wall behind the bar is clearly seen from the outside pavement and draws the attention inside the room. GARIBAR is a casual yet sophisticated bar concept that compliments the luxurious Garibaldi dining room upstairs. The furnishings are comfortable, contemporary styled- with light colored leather upholstered, dark timber chairs, timber tables, and with the room having a sleek, uncluttered look.
The bar is open for all-day drinks and eating, and in the evenings the tempo increases with live music and resident DJs providing a real buzz to the atmosphere- as GARIBAR transforms into one of the “happening” places on the KL nightlife scene.

There are two main zones at GARIBAR– the open, timber decked outdoor terrace area- which overlooks, from behind a thick row of green plants, the busy Bangsar traffic. The inside space is dominated by the large “L” shaped bar at the back of the room- with seating at the bar and at table settings around the interior floor space. A raised platform to one side provides the performance stage for the musicians and DJs. And an internal staircase leads to the upstairs dining room of Garibaldi.

The bar at GARIBAR has a large selection of premium drinks- with special “Happy Hour” deals on cocktails being particularly popular. As well as the classic cocktails, GARIBAR have their own cocktail creations to tempt the palates of discerning customers. Draft and bottled beers, premium spirits, and an extensive wine list, at reasonable prices, provide guests with plenty of options for their drinking choices.

The kitchen at GARIBAR serves a selection of Bites for all day snacking to accompany drinks, and a menu of contemporary Italian dishes for both lunch and dinner. The Set Lunch promotion from 12pm – 3pm on weekdays is great value from RM19++. The Bites selection includes favourite bar snacks such as Potato Wedges; and Fried Calamari; and contemporary Italian dishes such as Ravioli Fritti– fried cheese ravioli with spicy tomato sauce; and Scarmorza– Italian smoked cheese balls breaded and fried.
More substantial dishes include a good choice of pizzas, sandwiches & burgers and pastas. Fish and meat dishes include Italian style Fish & Chips; Grilled Sirloin Steak; and Lamb Shank. And to finish- tempting classic Italian desserts such as Pannacotta; Semifreddo; Tiramisu; and Gelato.
