BLOWFISH holds an acclaimed status within the Jakarta nightlife scene as one of the outstanding venues in the city. BLOWFISH is owned and operated by the same group behind other mega-popular Jakarta venues including the famous DRAGONFLY night club, and SOCIAL HOUSE.

BLOWFISH is accessed through the ground floor of the City Plaza building at the rear of Wisma Mulia. A front reception counter takes care of both BLOWFISH and the adjacent lounge venue PURO. The sleek, minimalist entrance leads into the main restaurant space- a long “L” shaped room with circular booths at the front of the room, and a long row of tables lining the wall further into the room. Dark polished timber flooring, contrasts with the rich timber furnishings and carved wood wall panelling. The feature ” bamboo” wall that extends the entire length of the room casts a subdued red glow throughout the space creating a warm seductive atmosphere. The signature, oversize timber abacus, feature as space dividers and further evoke the Oriental theme of the interiors. At the far end of the room- an exquisite, lighted onyx sushi counter extends in front of the semi-open kitchen. Further seating at tables and a private room complete this section.

The Drinks menu at BLOWFISH features a large selection of Cocktails, as well as a comprehensive selection of premium spirits- with special bottle promotions on selected brands of whisky, vodka and cognac. The Wine List features vintage Red and White wines from the premier global wine districts, and selections of vintage and N/V champagnes and sparkling wines.
The Cocktails are highlighted by “BLOWFISH Signatures” such as Geisha Martini; Mango Crush; Pear Creme Truffle and Finger Licking Tiramisu. Other cocktail specialties include “Stick Drinks” such as Cuban Mojito; Mandarin Press; and Sashima Snow Kitten. And “Fancy Martinis”- Lychee Martini; French Kiss; and Tokyo Fling.

The innovative Japanese cuisine created at BLOWFISH is the creation of Executive Chef Hugo Adrian. Originally from Spain, he developed his passion for modern Japanese sushi cuisine whilst working in Japanese restaurants in California. Blending Western ingredients with the traditional style and methods of sushi cuisine, he has created at BLOWFISH an innovative assemblage of dishes that provides a memorable culinary experience.
The menu features a large selection of the restaurant specialties- Sushi Rolls and “T’wisted Nigiri” (which are all flame seared and finished with salt and citrus.) Other menu items include Small Plates of appetizers; Kamameshi– rice casserole dish with meat, fish and/or vegetables cooked in a traditional iron kettle; Kitchen Mains– with beef, chicken, salmon teriyaki, tempura sets, beef sukiyaki etc; and Ramen- Udon- Soba– noodle dishes.

The Lounge area at BLOWFISH is a large space that seamlessly flows off from the restaurant entrance. The modern Japanese inspired design draws on elements of traditional Japan- with rows of illuminated large sake barrels a feature display behind the bar, and the extensive use of an Oriental palette of red and golden tones. The feeling is luxurious, with a dark sensuality and edginess. A stunning overhead mural of a “yakuza” tattooed female back references an element of mystery and intrigue. The Lounge holds regular special events, which are publicised through the BLOWFISH Facebook Page.
