Since opening in 2004, DRAGONFLY has been widely acclaimed as one of the truly outstanding, world-class, nightlife venues in Jakarta. Featuring a highly creative, original interior design concept, sited within an enormous space on the ground floor of a central Jakarta office tower, DRAGONFLY has long been the nightclub destination of choice for the young glitterati and fashionable crowd of the Jakarta nightlife scene. Originally conceived as a restaurant / bar / club, DRAGONFLY underwent a significant transformation in 2008, with the restaurant space being transformed into a more open, “social” lifestyle interior concept of lounge and club, suffused with a sensuous Asian feel.
The DRAGONFLY lifestyle concept combines high quality tapas style food for sharing, with an enticing drinks selection and bar service, that unwinds later in the night into a hot party zone. Resident and international guest DJs play an eclectic soundtrack of disco, funky house, 80’s-90’s, and deep house. DRAGONFLY was conceived, and is owned and operated by the highly regarded Ismaya Group, some of their other popular Jakarta venues include BLOWFISH and SOCIAL HOUSE. DRAGONFLY has maintained its preeminence within Jakarta’s vibrant nightlife scene, and continues to exert its “wow ” factor. The club is always packed with weekend party crowds, and regular special events are highlighted on their Facebook page .

The spectacular interior of DRAGONFLY is a bold statement of contemporary Asian design, the predominating color palette and materials evoking an distinctly Asian ethos. The grandly proportioned space is entered via a long narrow passageway leading from the front reception area- creating an aura of unfolding mystery for the first time visitor. An enormous lighted timber partition panel separates the entrance from the interior, and features an intricately carved out leaf pattern that creates the impression of fluttering leaves falling from the soaring heights of the ceiling to the floor below. Dark, rich timbers are extensively used throughout the interiors- with polished timber flooring, slatted timber ceilings and huge lighted timber beams that book-end each end of the room.
A number of spaces on different levels are seamlessly interconnected- with raised lounge seating areas at either end, and the main floor area punctuated by a large timber decked “sunken” circular lounge, and a striking high-counter table with an intersecting diagonal configuration of lighted onyx panels. The main bar extends almost the entire length of the back wall, angled mirrors placed along the wall behind the bar creates an impression of further depth to the room. At the furthest end of the room, dramatic flame red sculptured free-form shapes represent the warmth of a fire. The distinctly original design concept has been exquisitely executed, with impressive craftmanship and impeccable attention to detail.
