The Fullerton Hotel Singapore occupies one of Singapore’s most iconic heritage buildings. Originally completed in 1928 to serve as the then colony’s General Post Office, The Fullerton Building was for decades the most recognised landmark on the waterfront of Singapore. After a total restoration the building was re-opened in 2001 as the luxurious The Fullerton Hotel Singapore.
Occupying what was originally a functioning lighthouse structure on the rooftop of the original General Post Office standing on what was then the seafront of Singapore harbour, The Lighthouse makes the most of its spectacular setting. Now as part of the heritage listed The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, the old lighthouse annex has been converted into a charming Italian restaurant, with a welcoming style of relaxed, contemporary elegance. The cuisine at The Lighthouse is a creative assemblage of modern Italian dishes cleverly pitched between the adventurous and the comforting. The restaurant serves a popular set menu Business Lunch from Monday to Fridays, and dinner daily from 6:30pm.
Window front alcove – the prime table with stunning views
The restaurant has an intimate, cosy ambiance, with seating for only 52 diners in the single room. The full height windows spanning the front of the room provide all tables with breathtaking views across the entire Marina Bay precinct. Mirrored interior walls provide a further impression of spaciousness. The interior features an understated, contemporary decor that is simple and uncluttered in its elegance. A palette of mostly light colors- with classic crisp white linen table cloths, light timber chairs and white painted ceiling and walls keeps the attention on both the stunning views, and the memorable gastronomic experience.
In addition to the main dining room, a discrete doorway behind the restaurant reception counter leads up to a rooftop, open-air lounge that is for the exclusive use of restaurant diners. At the absolute pinnacle of the building, guests can enjoy the fabulous 360 degree views whilst enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail, or after dinner libations.
