• Zouk opened its doors in Singapore in 1991 and has become a world renowned clubbing institution, credited with introducing dance music and club culture to the region and remaining its strongest perpetuator to this day.
• Zouk has been voted one of the best clubs in the world annually since 1993 to present day in the world’s leading music publications having been ranked #5 on DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs 2012 Poll.
• ZoukOut was conceived in 2000 to be the region’s definitive dance music festival and bring Zouk’s spirit and energy to the great outdoors and an even larger audience.
• Past big names to grace the decks and stages include Avicii, Paul van Dyk, 2ManyDJS, Arin van Buuren, Carl Craig, Masters at Work, Gilles Peterson, Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, David Guetta, Tiësto and many, many more making ZoukOut the largest, most notable outdoor dance and music festival in South East Asia.
• In 2010, ZoukOut saw its largest turnout of 30,000 in attendance, an increase from 27,000 from the previous year, with numbers increasing every year since the first in 2000 that had 9,000 in attendance.
• ZoukOut saw a large increase in visitors from Australia, India and Europe in the past few years.
• Musical genres at ZoukOut include House, Techno, Trance, Electro, Alternative/Indie-Electronic, Hip-Hop and of course the inimitable Mambo Jambo, the iconic clubbing night, playing the classic anthems from the 80’s to rocking present-day tunes.
• 40% of the total turnout comes from the region, mainly from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Hong Kong and also as far off as the United States and Europe.
• ZoukOut 2004 and 2007 won the Singapore Tourist Board’s “Best Leisure Event Experience” award along with Zouk winning the “Best Nightspot Experience” award 8 times.
