Occupying the space within the luxurious Shangri La Hotel Kuala Lumpur that was for more than 25 years the home to the renowned “The Pub”- a veritable institution among hotel bars in KL, Arthur’s Bar & Grill was launched in late 2010 after an extensive refurbishment as the fresh iteration of a contemporary inner city bar and grill. Taking inspiration from the classic “bar and grill” establishments of New York City, the designers have re-created in the dramatic and soaring double-volume space a handsome and sophisticated venue with real style and class. In addition to the stunning main bar room, additional connecting spaces include the elegant grill dining room, an adjacent glass-encased “oval room” overlooking the exterior gardens and street, and a mezzanine level with a further bar and lounge area.
Arthur’s Bar & Grill serves a wide variety of beverages, including imported and local beers, wines by the glass and bottle, single malts, premium spirits, and an impressive assemblage of classic and signature cocktails, all complimented by an extensive Bar Snacks Menu. The kitchen serves lunch and dinner daily from the a la carte dining menu- offering a wide range of International bistro-style dishes, together with some local cuisine favourites, and a solidly crafted Grills Menu showcasing premium quality cuts of Australian beef and fresh seafood.
An ideal destination for after-work drinks, lunches and dinner, viewing live sports events, and simply the convivial social gatherings of friends, Arthur’s Bar & Grill evokes a welcoming, vibrant atmosphere with friendly service that is professional, but without pretension and formality. Open daily from 12:0 noon (Sundays 5:00 pm), closing at 1:00 am on weeknights, and 2:00 am on Friday and Saturday.
The Bar
The impressive back bar bottle display spans the entire width of the bar- extending all the way up to the ceiling. Plush leather upholstered bar stools line the solid timber bar counter.
The bar serves a wide selection of local and imported draught beers.
A sliding ladder is deployed for bar staff to access the upper bottle shelves.
The rear section of the main bar room features comfortable leather chairs and table settings.
A glass panelled bottle cabinet is set into the rear wall- showcasing the private bottles of members.
The upper mezzanine level holds another bar and lounge seating area- which can be utilised for private parties or corporate meetings and events.
The Dining Room
Adjoining the main bar room is a separate dining section of luxurious leather upholstered dining chairs and solid dark timber tables.
The darkly elegant dining section features red leather banquette settings, polished brass railings, timber flooring, a low ceiling with subdued lighting, and evokes the atmosphere of a classic New York grill room.
Opening off the dining room section is the “Oval Room” – a compact hemispherical shaped space wrapped in a curving floor-to-ceiling glass wall. A series of high tables and bar stools make for an ideal perch to observe the passing traffic outside.
The Enomatic wine dispenser system is conveniently located in a space between the bar room and dining section.

Australian OP Rib (500gm)- grain-fed beef. Sevred wiht creamy spinach,button mushrooms, onion rings and cherry tomatoes. Choice of sauces. Signature Dish.
