Acclaimed fine seafood restaurant in Hong Kong- serving highest quality sustainable seafood & fresh oysters
March 28th, 2013
DotCod has garnered wide acclaim as probably the finest seafood restaurant in Hong Kong since its opening back in 2000, and after a recent refurbishment aims to maintain its lofty credentials for some time yet. Owned and operated by the venerable Hong Kong Cricket Club (established 1851) as a downtown dining venue for both its members and public guests, the exceptional seafood dining experience at DotCod exemplifies the finely tuned service standards to be expected from such a distinguished institution. The cuisine at DotCod is centred on seasonal, fresh and sustainable seafood- cooked with classic European technique and contemporary presentation.
Catering to both a business and social clientele, DotCod is conveniently located in the basement level of the prestigious Prince’s Building in the heart of the Central office and retail district. Opening early in the mornings for a full breakfast service, Dot Cod remains open all day- serving lunch, afternoon tea and dinner six days per week (closed on Sundays). The restaurant is particularly popular for business lunches and dinners, with two adjoining private rooms available for functions. In addition to the fine dining a la carte menu, there is a separate Bar Menu of seafood snacks and small meals that is served at the bar and adjacent casual section of high tables and LCD screens. The bar is well stocked with beers, spirits and Scotch whiskys, and a regularly updated wine list that includes an extensive selection of European and New World labels, highlighted with some exceptional vintages. Over 20 varieties of wines are available by the glass- and also premium champagnes- by the glass or bottle.
Regular promotions at DotCod include a nightly Happy Hour at the bar- with a 2 for 1 offering on house wines and draught Carlsberg beer. Oyster Nights on Wednesdays are particularly popular with a large variety of fresh oysters available at HK$12 each.
