Acclaimed specialist whisky bar in Hong Kong
April 5th, 2013
Discretely located on the 2nd floor of a building along the uber-popular Hollywood Road SOHO bar and restaurant strip, Angel’s Share caters to a discerning clientele of whisky aficionados- offering a deep selection of over 120 whiskys- including many rare single malts originating from Scotland, but also with a good representation from Japanese distilleries, and limited selections from other whisky producing countries. The intimately scaled, dimly-lit interior has an alluring blend of industrial chic and classic luxury, making for a refined environment for the appreciation of the fine libations (and also a very decent gastropub-style dining menu). Established in late 2010 by the group behind such other popular Hong Kong bars as Tastings Wine Bar; the renowned mixology bar – QUINARY; and the recently opened ORIGIN- which is Hong Kong’s first bar dedicated to the delights of gin based drinks; Angel’s Share has established a well deserved reputation as one of Hong Kong’s finest whisky bars. The upstairs location makes for a quiet and sophisticated drinking den, catering to the appreciation of fine whiskys and cocktails, amicably served by a knowledgeable bar team.
Angel’s Share takes its name from the distillers’ whimsical term for the 2% of whisky that is typically lost annually through evaporation during the process of barrel aging.
Opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 3:00 pm to 2:00 am; Fridays and Saturdays from 3:00 pm to 3:00 am; and closed on Sundays.
