Renowned Chinese photographer Chen Man to hold exhibition at The Metropolitan by COMO, Bangkok
Pop-up Gallery space within the Met Bar from April 25th to May 31st
Seminal art and fashion photographer Chen Man will showcase her unique vision at the iconic Met Bar.
The exhibition, taking place from April 25th to May 31st 2013, will be on display in a specially commissioned pop-up gallery space within the hotel’s iconic Met Bar. Artwork by Chen Man will also be on display in one of the hotel’s exclusive Penthouse Suites, allowing guests to enjoy Chen Man’s work in the privacy of their own room.
The themes of her work have inspired a special Chen Man Afternoon Tea, cocktails and canapés, which includes a refreshing ‘iced lychee, ginger and silver moon tea’, ‘pickled cucumber, shiitake mushroom and lily bud steamed buns’, ‘Chinese green tea brûlées’, ‘bamboo, red bean and sesame cupcakes’, and ‘Jasmine flower-scented mango and sticky rice parcels’. All will be available in the Met Bar or as part of the in-room service in the Penthouse Suite.
A graduate of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, Chen Man is China’s leading fashion photographer whose distinctive vision of feminine beauty and power has placed her among the image-makers of choice for luxury brands like Celine, Versace, Adidas, Chanel, MAC and Mercedes. Her work, considered defining of modern China, appears regularly in Chinese Vogue, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar.
The exhibition will be free to guests at the hotel and customers at the Met Bar. An overnight stay in the Chen Man Penthouse Suite will cost from THB 20,000
