Spectacular beachfront venue melds daytime beachclub vibe with sophisticated restaurants & bars- and dazzling nightlife.

Joining an elite coterie of upscale lifestyle and dining venues on the Indian Ocean beachfront of Bali’s stylish Seminyak neighbourhood, Potato Head Beach Club launched in December 2010 with an alluring concept that melds a daytime beach club with chic dining and sophisticated nightlife. Drawing on the success of the original, and perennially popular, Potato Head Restaurant and Bar in downtown Jakarta, the founding partners- Ronald Akili and Jason Gunawan- expanded their horizons to develop a new world-class venue on the famed tourist island of Bali. Occupying a large site on the prestigious stretch of Seminyak beachfront, Potato Head Beach Club offers guests a truly memorable experience- commencing with its stunning visual impact, and transitioning through a wonderful melange of sophisticated (yet laid back) dining experiences, sumptuous artisanal cocktails, and vibrant nightlife.
Three distinct restaurant concepts provide an enticing selection of dining options. At the Potato Head Beach Club Restaurant & Bar, international comfort foods are served in a casual, all day bistro-style setting; while at the LILIN restaurant, authentic home cooked Asian cuisines are served to guests seated at long communal bench tables; and finally, upstairs at Tapping Shoes– an elegant, modern French culinary experience.
Innovative mixology has been a hallmark of the “Potato Head experience” since the opening of the original restaurant in Jakarta- and a constantly evolving beverage program embraces the concept of updating classic cocktail recipes with modern mixology techniques, and presentation, to create an impressive, finely executed, selection of sublime signature cocktails.
In the evenings, after the obligatory sunset cocktails, the vibe transforms as international and resident DJs up the tempo with their repertoire of tunes- the party extending well into the next morning. Potato Head Beach Club are also renowned for the extravagant annual parties that draw thousands of revelers to witness headline international acts.
Open daily from 11:00 am Potato Head Beach Club welcomes an eclectic crowd of tourists and local residents- to chill out by the pool all day, indulge in delicious dining and beverages, or party late into the evenings. Surely one of Bali’s standout beachfront venues, Potato Head Beach Club has garnered considerable international acclaim as a uniquely creative and refreshingly original concept, and the upcoming launch of an adjacent Potato Head boutique hotel, will further augment its status as a world class lifestyle and entertainment destination.
Audacious architectural design- inspired by ancient Rome’s Coliseum
The spectacular facade of Potato Head Beach Club makes for a dramatic entrance experience for guests as they arrive at the venue. Crafted from a disparate assemblage of 18th Century window shutters salvaged from across Indonesia- a design hallmark of the Potato Head group.
Further views of the semi-circular wall of salvaged timber window shutters that “wrap” the main building- and also feature suspended on internal ceilings.
A spectacular beachfront amphitheatre- its sprawling lawn partially encircled by the sleek, contemporary pavilion- featuring two levels of restaurants and bars that all overlook the palm tree fringed beach and Indian Ocean beyond.
Daytime Beachfront Pool Deck
Attractively set across the beach frontage- the pool and spacious paved deck areas- set among tall palm trees- offer a comfortable setting for all-day lounging and socialising while soaking up the beach vibe as the Indian Ocean swells roll into the beach.
Beachfront view back inside towards the central lawn, DJ station, and encircling pavilion.
At the beachfront, the sparkling large pool and terrace deck with comfortable day- loungers are the centre of attraction during the day.
A circular “swim-up” bar at one end of the pool offers liquid refreshments for swimmers.
Potato Head Beach Club Restaurant & Bars
Adjacent to the reception area- a casual bar setting for a morning espresso, or perhaps a final refreshment at the end of the day. The bar also services guests relaxing on the sofa seats that arc around the front of the restaurant level.
Bright, and breezy with modern bistro-style table settings, the casual ground floor eatery curves gently around from the entrance down to the beach bar and lounge at the far end.
Down a few steps from the bistro level, the beach bar and lounge area exudes a laid-back homely feel with vintage 1950’s style furnishings, teak timber flooring, and the”Potato Head” hallmark of mismatched timber window shutters suspended from the ceiling.
Stylish main beachfront bar- sleek construction of white marble, with seating at retro-styled white wrought iron chairs.
Completely open to the sea breezes- at the front of the lawn level is the stylish Asian cuisine restaurant- LILIN.
LILIN restaurant features open-air dining- with seating at several long communal bench style tables.
On the upper level, Tapping Shoes presents a comfortable sense of relaxed sophistication. Elegant crystal chandeliers hang from the pressed metal ceiling- with tables generously spaced across the glass encased room.
All tables at Tapping Shoes offer magnificent views through the floor to ceiling glass windows.
