Secreted away within the towering open-air atrium of boutique design hotel The Mira Hong Kong, Vibes is a surprising discovery – a lush outdoor garden lounge bar in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui. Enclosed on four sides by the towering wings of hotel guest rooms, Vibes offers a refreshing option for laid-back evenings, with quality drinks and tapas, music and dancing, plus an exotic shisha selection. Occupying the entire spacious courtyard, Vibes provides a variety of settings among the tropical garden of frangipani trees and stands of bamboo, with large fans circulating the air in summer, and gas heaters keeping things warm in the cooler winter months. Open daily from late afternoon, Vibes is an alluring alternative to the typical cramped bars of Tsim Sha Tsui – exuding a stylish yet relaxed sensibility, and set in the comfort of a discretely located garden courtyard.
Casual, yet with an understated sophistication, Vibes features a series of semi-private cabanas spanning both ends of the courtyard, stylishly separated by stainless steel lotus-shaped open fires set in the centre of tranquil water ponds. Across the paved central courtyard, comfortably spaced table and sofa settings are interspersed among trees and evocative color changing lighted cube installations. Adjacent to the bar, a shisha stand, manned by an Egyptian shisha master, adds an exotic element to the atmosphere.
For refreshments, guests can select from an approachable drinks list featuring classic and innovative signature cocktails, excellent wines, refreshing draft and craft bottled beers, mocktails and soft drinks, and coffees and tea. A concise list of simple yet well-cooked tapas, snack platters and comfort dishes complement the drinks.
Live DJs play at Vibes from 8pm on Wednesday to Saturday nights, while a specially themed Arabian Nights every Thursday features belly dancer performances and Arabic lounge beats from the DJ.
