Recently launched within the verdant gardens of the Shangri-La Singapore, Waterfall Ristorante Italiano serves authentic southern Italian cuisine in a casually elegant dining space that embodies the quintessential Italian dining experience. Occupying a stand-alone space at the lower pool and garden level of the hotel, Waterfall appeals as an all-day dining destination where consummate Italian cooking is served in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. Seasonally fresh ingredients, seafood and handmade pastas are at the forefront of a menu that features popular dishes representing the culinary heritage of southern Italy. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Waterfall offers an enticing new dining option in the Orchard Road precinct with its good-value buffet lunches and sociable evening dinner ambiance.

Suffused with an engaging informality, Waterfall’s good-looking interior artfully combines colonial-era references with a stylish contemporary decor. Sliding louvered doors, rattan dining chairs, and ceiling fans evoke colonial influences, while the warm timber furniture, herringbone timber and traditional Italian mosiac tiled flooring add a relaxed, yet sophisticated aesthetic. An open layout melds casual sofa settings with comfortably spaced dining tables, while the open cooking stations facilitate interaction with the culinary team. At the rear, a  private dining room with attached show kitchen is good for intimate dinner parties or culinary workshop experiences. Outdoor terrace settings add a further dimension to the dining options.

Heading up the culinary team, Chef de Cuisine Marco De Vincentis has designed an appetizing menu that draws heavily on his Naples- based family’s culinary heritage, and features popular traditional southern Italian dishes – thin-crust pizza, handmade pasta, fresh seafood and grilled meats – cooked in the uncomplicated manner characteristic of the cuisine. Classic Italian ingredient combinations are exemplified in signature dishes such as the Linguine Allo Scologio – a seafood pasta with scallops, prawns, mussels, clams and cherry tomatoes.

Complementing the flavourful cuisine, the wine list features a concise selection of regional Italian wines- supplemented with European and New World varieties – and includes the Sicilian Nero d’Avola as the house red wine, served from an oak cask into traditional boccalino ceramic jug-shaped mugs. Other beverage highlights include premium grappas and sherries.

Waterfall is open daily from early morning – serving buffets for breakfast and lunch (a la carte menu also available),and the a la carte menu for dinner. Refreshing home-made gelati are served all-day on the outdoor poolside terrace. Table and private room reservations are recommended.
