Retro vinyl lounge refreshes concept with a new South American chef and bar-dining menu of sharing plates

Since its 2014 launch in the heart of Singapore’s popular Haji Lane and Arab Street cafe and fashion enclave, LongPlay has attracted a hip clientele with its concept of a casual retro-themed bar playing nostalgic 50’s to 70’s music. With an encyclopedic library of over 3,000 LPs, LongPlay pays homage to the vinyl revival among audiophiles, while offering quality craft cocktails and a relaxing chilled-out, unpretentious vibe. Operated by acclaimed local restaurant and hospitality group Unlisted Collection, a recent refresh at LongPlay has seen the introduction of casual yet elevated bar-dining focused on seasonal menus of flavoursome sharing plates created by newly appointed South American chef Jorge Valderrama.

Cuisine Concise seasonal menus will offer diners a diversity of produce-forward dishes that reflect the convergence of culinary influences that chef Jorge brings to his cooking. Raised in Chile, Jorge has cooked at leading restaurants in Peru, New Zealand and Australia – including the much-accoladed Icebergs Dining Room in Sydney. Selections from a recent menu that exemplify the culinary style at LongPlay include the Homemade Charcuterie Platter comprising selections of house pickles, pork cheek terrine, duck ham, pickled mussels and ciabatta bread; Pan-seared Hokkaido Scallops with red Thai curry, toasted cashew puree and pineapple chutney; and the traditional Chilean dish Neruda’s Caldillo with ling fish poached in a rich, mildly spicy broth.

Cocktails Headlined by the signature reinterpreted classic cocktails, drinks at LongPlay are designed to both complement the food, or enjoy while listening to music in the lounge. Named after legendary musicians and soundtracks, signature cocktails playfully reference their inspiration with premium spirits and well-balanced flavour combinations.

LongPlay opens Tuesday & Wednesday from 6 pm to midnight, and Thursday to Sunday from 4 pm until midnight (closed Mondays). The compact interior seats 12 at the bar counter, with another 35 seats in the lounge section. Check the LongPlay Facebook Page for updates on special events and promotions.
