Acclaimed Italian restaurant relocated within clifftop space at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa
April 14th, 2016
Recognised for more than 10 years as one of Singapore’s top fine-dining Italian restaurants, ilLido at The Cliff restaurant recently relocated from its original home at the Sentosa Golf Club to a spectacular new space within the luxurious Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa. Founded by celebrated locally-based Italian restaurateur Beppe De Vito, the original ilLido had garnered multiple awards placing it among Singapore’s preeminent restaurants – distinguished by its contemporary renditions of authentic Italian cuisine, sophisticated chic design, and luxurious dining experience. Following its December 2015 relocation, ilLido at The Cliff has elevated the original restaurant setting with the attractive combination of expansive indoor and outdoor spaces within the luxuriant gardens of the Sofitel resort property that overlooks the Sentosa Island coastline and adjacent shipping on the waters of the Singapore Strait – while the westerly orientation delivers magnificent sunset vistas.
Design The restaurant comprises a high-ceilinged indoor main dining room with full height glass on three sides that capture the views and garden setting. A contemporary decor features a warm palette with brass and timber accents, and together with the white linen-topped tables, turquoise upholstered chairs, and plush carpets epitomise the sophisticated dining environment. Two generously sized luxurious private dining rooms are popular choices for corporate dinners and private entertaining. And expansive outdoor terraces, covered for all-weather comfort, offer a more casual atmosphere for drinks and snacks, and relaxed dining with picturesque views.
Cuisine Chef de Cuisine Simone Fraternali heads up the ilLido kitchen, cooking polished renditions of the acclaimed Italian cuisine of Chef-Mentor Beppe De Vito. Traditional Italian dishes are infused with contemporary culinary sensibilities, creating flavoursome signature dishes from the a la carte menu like the Hokkaido Scallops with Nduja & Sweet Pea Cream; Tagliolini with Scallops & Truffle; and Black Cod with Caramelized Celeriac & Lemon Capers. Desserts are a highlight – both the ilLido Tiramisu and Almond Pannacotta with Peaches & Pistachios marry traditional flavours with a modern interpretation.
Beverages An outstanding wine list is headlined by first-rate Italian wines with fine vintages from the preeminent districts and wineries. Additionally, French wines from Bordeaux and Burgundy are well represented, while Southern Hemisphere wines offer further taste and price options. At the outdoor terrace bar, the bartenders serve a compact drinks list of classic cocktails, plus premium spirits, beers and other refreshing beverages.
ilLido opens daily for lunch and dinner, a Weekday Set Lunch is good value at S$38++ for 3-courses; and the Weekend Set Brunch Menu is always popular with the free flow Prosecco option at S$128++. Table bookings for the main indoor dining room are recommended.
