MAISON EIGHT HAS PERMANENTLY CLOSED

August 15th, 2016

Maison Eight opened in April 2016 within a spectacular setting at the penthouse level of a newly built tower in the heart of Hong Kong’s pulsating Tsim Sha Tsui district. Enjoying stunning panoramic views across the Kowloon skyline and beyond Victoria Harbour to Hong Kong Island, guests at the multi-concept Maison Eight are invited to enjoy a variety of upscale lifestyle and dining experiences.

Anchoring the various spaces, Salvatore at Maison Eight is the first bar in Asia from the legendary Italian cocktail maestro Salvatore Calabrese. Extending beyond the central bar space, the Ballroom is a modern interpretation of classic ballrooms outfitted with plush booths and a vibrant party vibe with curated soundtracks, live performances, and international DJs. Opening off the Ballroom, the expansive outdoor garden terrace entices with spectacular views and casual elegant settings. At the opposite end of the bar, intimate French restaurant Esmé offers elegant dining with polished service and classic cuisine. And in an adjacent private room, LE CLUB 1829 hosts the world’s first Bollinger Champagne Room. Within the wine cellar showcasing over 2,300 bottles, a complete representation of all key Bollinger vintages and cuveé invites indulgent explorations.

Design  Within the contemporary elegance of Maison Eight, the gleaming 10-metre glass topped bar – backed by windows overlooking the neighbouring skyline –  is the sleek centrepiece greeting guests at arrival. Sophisticated without pretention, the “hotel without rooms” concept created by London/Hong Kong designers Two Men in Hats references classic hotel bars, restaurants, and ballrooms with intricately detailed ceilings and chandeliers, with the various spaces within Maison Eight harmoniously integrating to facilitate the social experiences of guests as day transitions into night.

Cocktails  After four decades heading up of some of London’s most celebrated hotel and casino cocktail bars, including Dukes Bar, the Library Bar at The Lanesborough, and more recently Salvatore’s Bar at The Playboy Club, the launch of Salvatore at Maison Eight introduces his world-renowned mixology and signature cocktails to Asia for the first time. Guests at the Hong Kong bar can select both a complete representation of his signature modern classic cocktails, complemented with new cocktails featuring Asian taste inflections created especially for Maison Eight. Highlights from the extensive cocktail list include his standout signatures Breakfast Martini – first created at The Library Bar, and the Spicy Fifty. Renowned for unexpected twists and flavour combinations with classic cocktails like the martini, the talented bar team at Maison Eight guide guests through the themed selections of cocktails – including Oriental  Joy; Maison Affair; Timeless & Twisted; and Champagne.

Maison Eight opens daily from midday until late. Between 3pm and 8pm, the daily Apertivo by Salvatore promotion offers complimentary French canapes with the cocktails, and second cocktails ordered are free.
