Italian cuisine and cocktails highlighted at sleek indoor – outdoor bar & cafe at luxurious The Reverie Saigon
October 31st, 2016
Opened in September 2015 along the famous Nguyen Hue boulevard of Ho Chi Minh City, The Reverie Saigon is a glamorous new luxury hotel occupying the upper floors of the Times Square tower. As one of the hotel’s upscale dining attractions, The Long@Times Square spans one side of the Times Square tower at street level – designed to evoke the quintessential Parisian or Roman sidewalk cafe experience. Taking its name from the Vietnamese word for “dragon”, The Long combines a series of six separate marble-topped curved bar counters extending approximately 50 metres along the side of the hotel tower. Focusing on authentic Italian pizzeria cuisine, supplemented with local Vietnamese dishes, The Long also impresses with its polished bar service that serves up premium spirits and accomplished cocktails.
Design A contemporary interpretation of European cafes and the grand galleria of Rome and Milan, the design at The Long harmoniously melds traditional elements such as black marble, chandeliers, raw brickwork and metal-framed glass domed ceilings, with a contemporary luxe aesthetic. A series of counters and alcove spaces offer a variety of dining or casual drinks settings, while the covered space provides an all-weather connection between the fashionable Dong Khoi Street and Nguyen Hue boulevard.
Cocktails & Italian cuisine Heading up the culinary team, third generation Italian pizza chef Ciro Sorrentino ensures the provenance of the pizzeria-style menu. Pizzas are cooked in an Italian wood-fired pizza oven made to order in Naples, while imported Italian ingredients promise authentic tastes. In addition to the signature wood-fired pizzas, the menu also features other Italian pizzeria staples such as gelato, antipasti, and pasta, with selections of Vietnamese dishes, burgers and bar snacks adding further choices. Highlights of the drinks list include The Long Signature cocktails like Saigon Lights – a combination of Tanqueray No. TEN, Campari, sparkling wine, mint leaf, lime; with classic cocktails well-represented by Mojitos, Juleps and Smashes, plus five versions of Martinis.
The Long@Times Square opens daily from 10am, serving the all-day menu of Italian and Vietnamese dishes & bar snacks. Private events can be arranged in the various spaces.
