Opened in 2014, Relish & Sons introduced the concept of a gourmet burger kitchen and bar to the buzzing dining scene in Saigon’s District 1. Created by the progressive team behind popular local restaurants such as The Racha Room and Stoker, the chef-driven culinary approach at Relish & Sons elevates the burger experience with premium quality local and imported ingredients, and their speciality house-made relishes and chutneys. Occupying a twin level space within the vibrant heart of District 1, Relish & Sons exudes a contemporary neighbourhood deli – cafe vibe with its white-washed brick walls, simple blond timber tables and chairs and blackboard specials. While first and foremost a destination for gourmet burgers, Relish & Sons also offer an all-day menu of classic cafe fare, together with nostalgic milkshakes, craft beers and hand-crafted cocktails served in signature “mugs”. A prime location adjacent to the corner of Dong Du and Hai Ba Trung Streets attracts a diverse clientele with its all-day menu including breakfast dishes, salads and sandwiches – with the headline gourmet burgers served until late.
Burgers Accomplished Australian executive chef and founding partner Chris Donnellan has drawn on his extensive international culinary experiences to create an appetising menu of gourmet burgers – uplifted with top quality fresh ingredients, Asian culinary influences and the house-made relishes. Among the standout burgers are the signature The Classic – made from 100% grass-fed Australian beef, cheddar cheese, house dill pickles, bourbon onion relish, lettuce, tomato, and mustard mayo; and the Vietnamese-inspired Pho Burger – with braised beef, fried egg, rice noodles, Vietnamese herbs, Pho broth, and Sriracha sauce.
Drinks A concise beverages list features selections of craft beers on tap and bottled; the signature “Mugtails” – try their take on the classic Pimms Cup – Our Pimms Cup – with Pimm’s, Bulldog Gin, Vietnamese mint, pomelo, strawberry, ginger, red dragonfruit, sour mango and cucumber. Other beverages include classic cocktails and premium spirits.
