NewYork-Italian style restaurant specialises in home-made pasta & pizzas and organic produce
Update: September 2018 – Linguini Fini Hanoi has closed
March 22nd, 2017
Linguini Fini Hanoi, located alongside the lakefront in the upscale Tay Ho district of central Hanoi – opened in mid-2015 – an offshoot of its namesake restaurant in Hong Kong. Closely modelled on the original Linguini Fini restaurant, the Hanoi restaurant features the same fresh organic produce and daily homemade pasta, together with New York style pizzas and a traditional Italian bar service. Founded in Hong Kong in 2011 by American partners Todd Darling and chef Vincent Lauria, the Linguini Fini concept is grounded on authentic Italian recipes and a distinctive New York style. Occupying a spacious double level building, the Linguini Fini-style of casual dining with friendly service and approachable pricing has been well received in Hanoi – the restaurant buzzing with a good mix of locals and visitors.
Design Full-height glass doors across the facade fold back to open up the restaurant to the tree-lined street. Spaciously proportioned, the interior is anchored around the rustic timber bar and its dramatic backdrop of hanging homemade pasta. Dining tables extend across the two levels of the interior offering comfortable spaces for small groups, intimate settings for couples, or casual seats on the front terrace. The elegant contemporary decor references a New York-Italian heritage, with an understated neutral palette of concrete, glass and timbers accented by several bold red tables.
Cuisine Authentic, home-style Italian cuisine has been the hallmark of Linguini Fini restaurants – with a menu featuring selections of antipasti, handmade pasta and pizzas, and locally sourced organic produce. Under the direction of Executive Chef-partner Vinny Lauria, traditional Italian cooking techniques and recipes have been updated with local herbs and ingredients – creating more than 20 varieties of pasta and pizzas to choose from.
Drinks Beverage options served from the front bar include an approachable wine list comprised primarily of Italian labels – all available by the glass – plus a concise list of well-executed premium and classic cocktails – including Italian favourites like the Negroni; Aperol Spritz; and Espresso Martini.
Linguini Fini serves lunch and dinner daily, with the bar open from 11:30 am – and a Happy Hour on weekdays between 5 and 9 pm.
