Multi-concept venue offers bistro dining at Botanico and casual all-day cafe at Bee’s Knees

Located within Singapore’s lush Botanic Gardens The Garage, is a dual dining venue created by the hospitality group (I-Group) behind well-known local outlets UNA and 1-Altitude. The Garage occupies what was originally a 1920’s service centre for cars, retaining most of the visual elements of the Art Deco heritage building. Its distinctive profile features a white exterior and beautifully framed arches that recall its origins – while a clean interior design aesthetic complements the beauty of its surrounding tropical garden setting.
On the ground floor the Bee’s Knees is styled as a casual garden all-day spot that welcomes guests with a friendly and relaxed ambiance. The laidback spirit is enhanced with simple wooden furniture and the surrounding greenery s a backdrop. Inspired by the social insects – Bee’s Knees serves photo-worthy breakfast choices, including the Caramelized Applies with Cranberries Waffles, Tiger Prawns Linguine, Beef Cheek Bolognese and Margherita Pizza. At night, it transforms into a fun hangout spot that serves pitchers of beer and other beverages in addition to the food menu.
Meanwhile, on the upper level of The Garage the highlight is the Botanico bistro. Recently redesigned, the interior features an expansive open space, vaulted ceilings – with tropical plants as appropriate accents. Outdoors, a wood-floored terrace offers guests a refreshing al fresco experience. Heading up the kitchen team, accomplished local chef Sujatha Asokan deftly marries contemporary Western cooking technique with Asian ingredients and taste profiles. Popular international dishes are enhanced by familiar local flavours – such as Assam laksa – and typified in the Seabass Ceviche; while a nod to Chef Su’s Indian culinary heritage is well-expressed in the Curry Lamb Neck. A well-conceived wine program includes over 30 premium labels, supplemented with enticing cocktail experiences crafted by mixologist Ruzaini Hashim.
The Garage can be found inside the Singapore Botanic Gardens – 50 Cluny Park Road. Bee’s Knees opens from Tuesdays to Sundays between 10 am and 10 pm, and Botanico serving dinner on the same days from 6 pm to 11:30 pm – with a popular weekend brunch menu offered on the weekends between 11 am and 3 pm.
