Tropical tiki-themed bar with American-style backyard barbecue and nightly up-tempo music

First opened in October 2020, Bar.Yard was a notable addition to Bangkok’s globally renowned collection of spectacular rooftop bars. Occupying an expansive space on the 40th-floor rooftop of the newly opened 5-star Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, the rooftop design, inspired by its tropical setting overlooking the verdant greenery of Lumphini Park, features a tiki-style bar showcasing the bright and colorful setting – replete with tropical-inspired furnishings and lush greenery. With a bar list headlined by tiki-themed cocktails, and complemented by a dining menu of American-style barbecue favorites, Bar.Yard has enjoyed popularity among a discerning clientele of both local and international guests.
Highlights from the beverage menu include the signature Tropical Oasis cocktails – refreshing drinks include the Pineapple Clarity – made with Bacardi Carta Blanca rum, Campari, cherry Heering, Thai milk tea, pineapple, lemon, and Silpin Samui coconut syrup; and Baby Chang – a flavorful combination of Appleton Estate special jamaica rum, Cinzano 1757 Rosso Vermouth, Campari, orgeat, chocolate bitters, lemon, and Fever-Tree ginger beer. In addition to the signatures – the bar team also serve up a concise list of classic cocktails – or can prepare off-list requests.
Diners at Bar.Yard can select from an extensive menu of American-style barbecue dishes – artfully inflected with South American influences by Executive Chef Lamberto Valdez Lara. Menu options include sharing combos and platters; smoked meats such as BBQ Pork Belly and Baby Pork Ribs; Mexican-style tacos, quesadillas, and nachos; while the “bad-ass skewers” feature corn, bacon-wrapped shrimps, and an Arabic mixed grill.
Adding to the attraction of the panoramic rooftop setting, a curated playlist is elevated with an exciting lineup of local and international DJs, playing everything from neo-soul and electro-funk to contemporary hip hop and disco. The rooftop transforms nightly with a party vibe after sunset – and with the spectacular Bangkok skyline as a backdrop, the up-tempo music plays until late.
Bar.Yard opens daily from 5 pm – table reservations are recommended.
