Glamorous Cabaret-style Music Hall and Cocktail Bar with Nightly Live Jazz Performances
September 2oth, 2022
Crimson Room launched in late 2019 as an upscale destination for cabaret-style live jazz and stylish yet casual drinking – discretely set within an unmarked space in the popular Velaa SindHorn Village in Bangkok’s Lumphini district. Taking inspiration from the vibrant dance halls and speakeasy bars of last century’s notorious Roaring Twenties era, Crimson Room features a glamorous Art-Deco-themed interior replete with plush red velvet soft furnishings, dark timber paneling, and polished brass fittings. Nightly live jazz performances from a roster of leading local musicians together with a polished drinks program attract a discerning clientele for an evening of entertainment and enjoyable drinking.
Crimson Room was conceived by and operates under the Watermelon Group – the team behind notable venues including celebrated speakeasy cocktail bar Rabbit Hole; the recently opened Bar Marco – a relaxed mid-century themed bar in Thonglor; and also in Thonglor – contemporary fine-dining restaurant Canvas.
For the bar program at Crimson Room, Watermelon Group Bar Director Supawit “Palm” Muttarattana has carefully curated a selection of fine wines and Champagnes to meet a range of guest preferences. And drawing on his experience in leading local cocktail bars – Supawit has created an enticing list of cocktails for Crimson Room – including a selection of signature cocktails that evoke the exuberance of the 1920’s speakeasy bars and dance halls – categorized under themes such as “Dim The Light“, “Raise The Curtain“, “Strike The Band“, and “Take A Bow“. Standout signatures include Smoke After S*x – a combination of Bacardi 8, Mezcal, Sauvignon Blanc, and Smoke Tea; and Them Apples – with Bulleit Bourbon, Baked Apple, Sugar, Citrus, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Additional cocktail specialties include the Bespoke Martini selection; the Perfect G&Ts – with 7 versions of gin & tonics; and a list of well-executed classic cocktails.
With the intimate scale of the venue, plus the tiered seating options – including four plush red velvet booths – all guests are ensured clear views of the performers on the stage. Nightly jazz performances showcase both leading local musicians and upcoming talents. Live shows commence at 8 pm on Wednesdays to Saturdays, and from 9 pm on Sundays to Tuesdays. After the jazz shows end, live spinning from top deejays raises the tempo in the room until late.
With limited seats and high popularity table reservations are strongly recommended.
