Aussie-inspired cuisine and sociable hospitality at the core of family-friendly dining concept

Exuding a quintessential Aussie hospitality experience – WKND takes its cues from the high-energy casual dining culture that evolved in Australian metropolises such as Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Launched late last year in HCMC’s upscale Thao Dien residential district, WKND has quickly settled into its neighborhood and become a popular destination for laid-back yet polished service and a well-crafted menu inspired by contemporary Australian bistro fare – infused with local influences.
Entering WKND reveals a series of open spaces that accommodate the multi-faceted hospitality on offer. At the front – the in-house bakery services both dine-in and take-out customers, with the kids’ play zone adjacent. Further inside the generously proportioned floorspace the open kitchen is fronted by counter seating, with spacious indoor table seating opposite.
Beyond stands the centralized bar and caffeine set-up, while the outside garden/courtyard space offers a relaxed environment for socialising. As an all-day destination, WKND serves coffee and freshly baked bread & pastries in the morning; a full lunch menu – and transitions late afternoon for cocktails or a glass of wine – accompanied by snacks – and later a full dinner service.
Notable for the generous servings, the well-constructed menu showcases bistro dishes such as Blackended Sea Bass with miso sauce; Wagyu Beef Burger; and WKND Roast Chicken. The selection of breakfast items includes the Brekky Sandwich; Smoked Salmon with rosti; and the G’Day Platter; while for lunch – Bread (sandwiches, tortillas, burgers); Salads and Bowls, and protein dishes are complemented with sweet-tooth desserts and cakes. And for the kids – the “Little Human” menu includes Sizzling Salmon; Prawn Sandwich; Beef Burger – plus ice creams and thick shakes.
On the expansive beverage menu, a wide variety of caffeine drinks, smoothies, kombuchas, pressed juices, wines, crafted beers, and spirits, are highlighted by a concise selection of signature, classic, and gin-centric cocktails – all developed by the well-credentialed bar team behind sibling venues Layla – Eatery & Bar, and Summer Experiment.
WKND is open daily from 7:30 am until 10:30 pm.
The weekday Happy Hour offers good value deals Monday to Friday between 4 pm and 8 pm.
