Chiang Mai’s highest rooftop bar introduces a new menu based on sustainable & organic principles
December 16th, 2023
Recently, Meliá Chiang Mai’s 360-degree rooftop bar – Mai the Sky Bar – has unveiled a new menu with dishes underpinned by local sustainable and organic farming. Located on the hotel’s 22nd floor – and the highest rooftop bar in Chiang Mai – Mai the Sky Bar offers spectacular views of the Ping River to the city’s east, and the famed Doi Suthep Temple on the mountaintop to the west.
Drawing on Meliá’s Spanish roots, the city’s most happening venue’s new menu serves a variety of tapas and pinchos, grazing boards, and desserts under sections dubbed “Para Picar”, “Tableros” and “Postres” respectively. Working closely with sustainable farmers, cheeseries, honey makers, and more in the Chiang Mai region, the Melia Chiang Mai supports sustainable agriculture and healthier eating.
Highlights from the new menu include the artisan cheese board – with cheeses crafted from high-quality, locally sourced raw cow’s milk; while the ‘Tostas Platter’ option of tomato cherry confit and pesto on toast – features fresh ingredients sourced from a nearby gourmet organic farm. In addition to cold cuts, the menu features mixed grill skewers, croquetas, fresh summer rolls comprising vegetables in fresh spring roll wrap and sweet tamarind dip, and salmon tiradito with mango passion fruit dressing, avocado mousse, and pickled onion.
Complementing the dishes – a wide selection of spirits, cocktails, mocktails, wines, beers, coffees, signature tea concoctions, smoothies and shakes, fresh juices, and soft drinks are served at the bar.
Mai the Sky Bar opens daily between 4:00 pm and midnight, with the “Sunset Chill and DJ Live Sessions” held on Thursday to Sunday evenings until December 31st, 2023.
