Manhattan marks a decade of distinction with events and debut of a new cocktail bar concept

As Manhattan Bar marks a monumental decade of defining the cocktail culture in Singapore and beyond, it proudly announces “ManhatTEN”, a series of extraordinary events to celebrate its tenth anniversary. Spanning across April, the month-long homage is not just a tribute to the bar’s journey of exceptional craftsmanship and its valued community but also signifies its relentless pursuit of cocktail craft in the global cocktail scene. Significantly, the celebration heralds the launch of East47, a progressive cocktail bar-in-a-bar.
Uniting the Titans: The Big Four with Jigger & Pony, 28HKS and Nutmeg & Clove 10 April 2024, Wednesday
“The Big Four,” happening from 6 pm to 10 pm, celebrates a decade of trailblazing and unity in Singapore’s vibrant cocktail scene. This exclusive event remakes Manhattan Bar into a showcase of Singapore’s finest bars, each commemorating a significant decade of influential presence. The evening is designed with dedicated zones—Jigger & Pony alongside Manhattan at the main bar, and immersive pop-up rooms created for 28HKS and Nutmeg and Clove. Esteemed mixologists Aki Eguchi from Jigger & Pony, Lucas Kaufmann from 28HKS, along with Colin Chia and Shelley Tai from Nutmeg & Clove, will join Zana Mohlmann, Manhattan Bar’s Head Bartender to unveil a curated selection of three signature cocktails from each bar.
The American Connection: Friends of Manhattan x Allegory with Deke Dunne 12 April 2024, Friday
This collaboration showcases Allegory’s remarkable accolades, including its spot in North America’s 50 Best Bars and numerous Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Award nominations, reflecting its profound commitment to a mission-driven ethos and community engagement. For one night only from 6 pm to 10 pm, Allegory’s Beverage and Creative Director Deke Dunne will helm the bar of Manhattan with a selection of inventive cocktails in collaboration with Michter’s, Farmer’s Gin, and Siete Misterios Mezcal.
Reinventing British: Friends of Manhattan Chef Series x JAAN By Kirk Westaway 14 April 2024, Sunday
From 6 pm to 10 pm, Manhattan Bar collaborates with the two Michelin-starred JAAN by Kirk Westaway, ranked #53 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024 for a one-night-only tasting journey across the Atlantic. Meticulously curated together by Chef Kirk Westaway and Head Bartender Zana Mohlmann, the exclusive five-course menu marries JAAN’s contemporary British cuisine with Manhattan’s cocktail craftsmanship, each drink infused with quintessentially British ingredients and inspirations.

The anniversary festivities continue with an evening featuring Agite Club, led by the internationally acclaimed bartender Raiza Carrera. Celebrated for her transformative journey through the cocktail scenes of Lima, Buenos Aires, and Barcelona, and lauded as the Best Bartender in Spain in 2023, Raiza brings her unmatched expertise and creative flair to Manhattan Bar from 6 pm to 10 pm. Agite Club, Raiza’s brainchild, transcends the traditional pop-up bar concept, embodying a dynamic movement that honours the heart of mixology and the community that powers it.
A Decade Defined: Ten Years of Manhattan 24 April 2024, Wednesday
Manhattan celebrates its ten year journey in the cocktail world with a grand bash. From 6 pm to 10 pm, the special night features an unlimited flow of cocktails – from all final bottles of every cocktail from the Archives created by Manhattan over the past decade, exclusively uncorked for this occasion, to 10 hallmark cocktails that have defined Manhattan over the years, alongside innovative mixes from East47.
Debuting East47, A Bespoke Cocktail Bar In A Bar
Amidst the buzzing atmosphere of Manhattan lies East47, an enigmatic fine drinking bar that blends cocktails, gastronomy and imagination for the perspicacious drinker. This one-room revolution is an exclusive enclave inspired by Andy Warhol’s iconic Silver Factory on East 47th Street, known for its groundbreaking gatherings of the 1960s’ cultural avant-garde. Like its muse, East47 is conceived as a cocktail studio for today’s luminaries.
East47 is a dynamic playground for the bartender community, hosting residencies and exclusive experiences that foster innovation and collaboration. Blending modern luxury with artistic rebellion, East47 draws from New York’s vibrant art and fashion scene from the late 60s to the early 80s. Designed by Matthew Shang Design Office, the intimate 12-seater space is adorned with silver foil-like wallpaper, undulating stainless steel details, and Barovier and Toso Opera Venetian crystal lights, creating an atmosphere that is both reflective and intimate.

Millie Tang’s Exclusive Residency with Orientalist Spirits – 25 April to 4 May 2024
East47 welcomes its inaugural residency by Asian-Australian bartending powerhouse Millie Tang, showcasing a curated selection of cocktails that represents her bold experimentation and the art of storytelling through drinks. From Brisbane to bars across the globe, the acclaimed bartender of The Gresham has earned accolades for her unique approach to cocktails. The residency will run from 6 pm to midnight from 25 April to 4 May 2024, excluding Sunday and Monday.
