Smoke & Mirrors Launches The Real Art of Drinking: Vol IV – Revealing a World of Colour
August 15th, 2024
Standing atop the National Gallery Singapore building in central Singapore, Smoke & Mirrors is renowned regionally as one of Singapore’s foremost creative cocktail bars. Continuing their series of Art of Drinking progressive cocktail menus, Smoke & Mirrors recently launched the fourth volume titled “Painter’s Palette” – highlighting 12 new cocktails created by the leaders of the bar team – Wong Wee Siong and John Vincent “JV” Naive. Taking inspiration from the vivid colours of a painter’s palette, the menu offers a stimulating journey through its 12 unique and colourful cocktail concoctions.
“With this creative freedom, the 12 cocktails on our new menu draw inspiration from a multitude of sources, infusing not just local flavours but also those from beyond,” explains Assistant Head Bartender, Wong Wee Siong. “Reflecting the diverse nature of our city, our multicultural team and our guests who have visited us, these cocktails are a celebration of diversity”
Adds Senior Bartender John Vincent “JV” Naive -“Creating this menu allowed us to infuse a sense of playfulness and fun into the drinking experience. We want our guests to enjoy not just the flavours and unique set of ingredients, but also the whimsy behind each name.”
Exemplifying the creativity and techniques of the bar team is The Golden Ticket, inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This whimsical cocktail features peanut butter washed whiskey and dark chocolate liqueur. In collaboration with famed Singapore chocolatier Janice Wong, each drink is garnished with a chocolate bar where 15 lucky guests may find the “Golden Ticket” to win a bottle of Michter’s Whiskey.
