Singapore rejoins largest global bartender competition – celebrating cocktail culture
February 10th, 2025
Respected global bartending competition World Class returns to Singapore this year after a 6-year break – making a successful comeback for the programme that has raised the bar for bartending excellence worldwide since its inception in 2009. Since its launch, World Class has supported, trained and inspired over 400,000 bartenders across the globe while partnering them with the world’s finest spirits – the Diageo Reserve collection.
World Class has become the leading authority on the global drinks industry for information on the latest drinks, trends, cocktail recipes, and industry insight. Throughout the competition, bartenders will progress through a series of challenges, with the top performers advancing to the Top 20, Top 10, and Top 5 rounds. The ultimate winner, crowned at the World Class Singapore Finals in June, will represent Singapore at the World Class Grand Finals in Toronto this September.
Competing bartenders will craft cocktails using iconic brands including Johnnie Walker, the world’s number one Scotch whisky; Don Julio, an exceptional tequila celebrating Mexican flavour and tradition; Zacapa, a rum aged 2,300 meters above sea level, offering rich caramel, vanilla, and dried fruit notes; Tanqueray, the bartender’s gin of choice with crisp juniper and zesty citrus; and The Singleton, known for its velvety texture and profound flavours ideal for whisky sours and modern highballs.
World Class Singapore 2025 promises to inspire and elevate the next generation of bartending talent. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting journey.
The World Class competition is conducted under the auspices of the Diageo Bar Academy.
