Located on the rooftop of The Fullerton Bay Hotel, on the waterfront of Singapore’s Marina Bay, Lantern is an eminently stylish combination of an outdoor bar and shimmering pool. Surrounded by luxuriant tropical greenery, the attractively landscaped rooftop setting provides a sanctuary of discrete luxury and relaxation on the edge of Singapore’s business district. The recently completed ( 2010) luxury boutique hotel was constructed on a podium extending out into Marina Bay, with the water on three sides of the low-rise structure creating a sense of separation from the adjacent busy metropolis.
Lantern offers guests a variety of settings to partake in the selections of enticing cocktails, champagnes, premium beverages and gourmet snacks, whilst embracing the panoramic vistas across the entire Marina Bay waterfront and extending around to include the office towers of the Singapore CBD rising directly behind. Lantern is a particularly popular destination in the evening hours when the temperature drops, and the lighting effects across Marina Bay are at their spectacular best.
The Fullerton Bay Hotel and Lantern are part of The Fullerton Heritage – a collection of outstanding dining and hospitality venues situated along the city-side of the Marina Bay waterfront- comprising The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, One Fullerton, Customs House, Clifford Pier and Fullerton Waterboat House.

The concept and design for Lantern was the creation of acclaimed young Hong Kong-based designer, Andre Fu. Taking inspiration from the heritage of the adjacent Clifford Pier, Lantern derives its name from the local Chinese vernacular for Clifford Pier- “red lantern pier”. And the design and furnishings of Lantern were created to evoke the early 20th Century colonial period- with elements of contemporary chic that express the luxurious sophistication of The Fullerton Bay Hotel.
The main bar area extends across the entire frontage and is sheltered from the tropical sun, and rain, by a large rectangular white awning- with billowing drapes and vintage-style crystal chandeliers evoking a sophisticated luxury of the colonial era. Prominent in the centre of the space is the large circular bar- constructed from overlapping curved sheets of polished bronze in a design that re-creates the form of antique nautical lanterns. Furniture settings under the awning include comfortable day beds at the waterfront row, and discrete arrangements of vintage style chairs , tables and lounges. Further settings extend along either side of the pool- with lounges, tables and some cabanas suitable for small private parties.

The Drinks Menu at Lantern features an alluring selection of vintage and modern cocktails inspired by the golden age of drinking. The cocktails have mostly been inspired by the cultures of South America and the Caribbean Islands, with carefully selected ingredients including fresh tropical juices squeezed daily at the bar, and fresh herbs. A selection of the most popular Signature Cocktails are featured in the photos below. The Lantern cocktails also feature a variety of Mojito concoctions- highlights include: Brazilian Pina– Cachaca, pineapple, fresh mint and refined sugar; English Summer– Rum, strawberry, raspberry, and fresh mint; and Mojito Royale– Blanco Rum, Champagne and fresh mint.
The Bubbles & Bubbles selections of Champagnes and Proseccos include vintage and NV labels – Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial NV; Veuve Cliquot Ponsardin NV; Loius Roederer “Brut Premier” NV, Krug “Grande Cuvee” NV; Bottega Vino Poeti “Gold” Prosecco; and Dom Perignon 2002.
The Cellar Selections offers a concise range of premier red and white wines from acclaimed global vineyards. Other beverage selections include a comprehensive offering of premium spirits; local and imported beers; freshly squeezed juices from the Juice Bar; and coffees and teas.

Imperial Berry Mojito– Rum, berries, mint & champagne. Signature cocktail.
The Bar Menu also features a selection of “Nibbles”– gourmet snacks created for pairing with the drinks. Some highlights include: Signature Duck Nori Spring Rolls- hand-rolled with chilli dip; Tuna, Guacamole and Wasabi mayo crisp tacos; and Spicy Tandoori Chicken morsels with mango coriander salsa. Other snacks avaialble include selections of Salads and Sandwiches, and a few more substantial dishes such as Steak & Frites; and Roasted Sea Bass with basil scented sauteed vegetable.
Gourmet snacks include the plate of Mini Wagyu Beef Burgers –with Aged Cheddar and Tomato BBQ Sauce ( 3 pcs)
