Acclaimed New York food institution Dean & DeLuca opens Singapore flagship cafe and store

The Dean & DeLuca concept originated in New York in 1977 as a corner deli store, and in subsequent years has evolved into an international group renowned for their gourmet cafes and multi-channel retail of gourmet and specialty foods, premium wines and high-end kitchenware. The presence in Asia for Dean & DeLuca has grown from an initial single cafe presence in Tokyo, Japan to include over 10 outlets in several cities, and now also embraced in markets such as Korea, Thailand ( 3 outlets) and the Middle East ( 4 outlets). In June 2012, to the delight of discerning local food enthusiasts, Dean & DeLuca have opened their flagship cafe and store in Singapore in a bright and spacious 3,200 sq ft section on Level 4 of the Orchard Central mall. The Singapore store is operated by a local licensee, and further expansion of store numbers is planned in the near future.

The Dean & DeLuca Cafe
The cafe service counters showcase a large variety of “New York deli” style dishes comprising salads, soups, gourmet sandwiches and burgers, and gourmet foods such as Pan Seared Beef Tenderloin and Broiled Atlantic Salmon. The All-Day Breakfast dishes are a popular feature at Dean & DeLuca cafes- with favourites such as American Country Breakfast; The Belgian Stack; and Eggs Ibericho. The bakery counter features freshly baked croissants, breads and pastries. And gourmet coffees, teas, fruit drinks etc compliment the food nicely.

The Gourmet Food Store
The gourmet culinary products are showcased in a bright, open-ceiling space that connects the main entrance to the cafe section. Customers can comfortably browse the impressive displays of the artisanal products that are sourced globally by the Dean & DeLuca team. The products include both Private Label and branded products across a diverse range of categories that includes – exotic herbs and spices, special blends of coffees and teas, a selection of fine wines and chocolates, unique jams, spreads, pastas, olive oils, sauces and many more pantry items. Additionally, food related items such as kitchen equipment and accessories, cookery books, gift baskets for every occasion (either pre-packaged, or bespoke with customer choices), are also available.
