Acclaimed multi-faceted venue combines fine dining restaurant with vibrant lounge & outdoor deck bar

Frangipani Restaurant & Bar served its first patrons back in 2001, and after more than ten years it has maintained its privileged status in the very upper echelon of the fine dining establishments in KL. Frangipani has successfully combined an elegant restaurant serving contemporary European cuisine, with a sophisticated yet vibrant lounge, into one of the stand-out social and dining destinations in the city. And more recently, in April 2012, what was once a barren concrete carparking space at the front of the building has been transformed into the Frangipani Deck Bar, an open-air bar and lounge space that offers a casual tropical garden setting for relaxed evening drinks and snacks.
Frangipani is conveniently located in the heart of Changkat Bukit Bintang, a bustling, upmarket, restaurant and bar strip in central KL, and is one of the longest operating venues in the area. The restaurant serves a modern, European-inspired cuisine, with a changing menu of seasonally fresh ingredients and specialties. The dishes are prepared with a lightness of touch and a firm grasp of authentic French culinary techniques to create a masterful repertoire of dishes. Frangipani also takes its wines seriously and boasts a particularly impressive wine cellar. Perhaps the best option for appreciating both the culinary excellence and superb wines is to order from the Menu Gastronomique, which pairs carefully curated French vintage wines with a selection of dishes from the A la Carte Menu. (Priced at RM280 for food only, and RM450 paired with French wines). Alternatively, there is a Three Course Menu that offers full size portions selected from the A la Carte Menu– priced at RM 170.
Post-dinner, or as a nocturnal destination in its own right, the upstairs Frangipani Lounge offers a sophisticated lounge experience of cracking cocktails and drinks, accompanied by the tunes spun by local and international DJs. The subdued lighting and stylish-chic furnishings provide an intimate atmosphere of understated elegance, with a series of separate sections within the overall Lounge space offering different options of engagement- from relaxed lounge to the more vibrant bar space.
Frangipani Deck Bar
The recently launched open-air Deck Bar stands at the street frontage of Frangipani- enclosed behind sculptured teak timber walls, with reclaimed timber decking and casual seating on grey fabric sofas.
The transparent roof of the Deck Bar fills the space with natural light and offers protection from any tropical downpours. Overhead fans keep the air circulating. The black marble bar separates the Deck Bar from the interior City Bar space that features lounge-booth and bar counter seating.
The inside section of the City Bar features mirrored walls, timber floors and a sleek black marble bar.
The Deck Bar specialises in fresh fruit cocktails, an extensive wine list, champagne, and draught and bottled boutique beers.
Cocktail Pitchers
The Deck Bar have created a selection of six different fresh tropical fruit cocktails that can be ordered by the Pitcher (RM 70), or by the Glass (RM 35)- ideal for relaxed refreshment in the outdoor deck area.
The Deck Bar also serves a well-crafted list of classic and creative cocktails, together with wines ( by the glass and bottle), champagne, and beers- both locally brewed and imported boutique brews. A menu of bar snacks and sharing plates are available for grazing on whilst enjoying the beverage refreshments and street-side views.

Frangipani Lounge
The main Lounge room has a sleek-chic style- with leather upholstered sofas and bar stools, solid timber slab tables, timber floors and highlighted with perforated stainless steel decorative panels on columns and walls. A gleaming black round bar stands in the centre of the room.
The Frangipani Lounge features a separate rear bar space with a long bar counter and bold black and red decor. Back-lighted perforated steel panels are signature design elements.

Frangipani Restaurant
Created from the shells of three adjoining shophouses, the designers of Frangipani restored the original Art Deco facade of the buildings, whilst reconfiguring the interior spaces into the stunning dining room and upstairs Lounge. The central feature of the dining room is the courtyard, with its black tiled reflective pool and soaring void space, with columns reaching up to the skylight in the double height ceiling. The interior deco takes a minimalist approach with simple, elegant white clothed tables and grey upholstered chairs. Sculptured wood panels and the intricately perforating stainless steel panels provide contrasting textures and decorative elements.
The Frangipani Restaurant occupies an exquisite space on the ground floor, with tables set around the perimeter of the black tiled water pond that fills the central courtyard.
The elegant tables are comfortably spaced around the four sides of the reflective water pond- creating a sense of both privacy and serenity.
Additional table settings at one end of the room comfortably accommodate four diners. Most tables around the central pond are set for two diners.
