Extravagant opulence of cocktail & champagne lounge celebrates the grandeur of Baroque-era France
Le Boudoir is a delightfully conceived cocktail lounge in Hong Kong, evoking the seductive opulence and glamour of an 18th Century French palatial residence. Discretely accessed from a nondescript doorway on the bustling Wyndham Street in the SOHO district of Hong Kong, the dimly lighted, red walled stairway opens into the basement room. An extravagantly decorated room, Le Boudoir is a late night haven for cocktail aficionados, or for a romantic rendezvous. The intimately scaled room accommodates an imposing central bar, with a couple of plush lounge settings, plus a few small tables for a discrete têt-à-tête. An exterior courtyard caters for smokers.
With the same ownership as the French bistro Pastis on the ground level of the same building, Le Boudoir most nights attracts a primarily French expat crowd of late night revelers. An audaciously stylish hangout for a discerning clientele, Le Boudoir is acclaimed as one of Hong Kong’s stellar cocktail lounges, with the bartenders serving up an impressive array of inspired cocktails. The combination of the evocative style of the opulent Baroque furnishings, together with the sumptuous cocktails and vibrant music played by DJs, channels the hedonistic excesses of a bygone era.
Alluring cocktail creations represent the core of the beverage program at Le Boudoir. Featuring both classic cocktails, classics with a twist, and original creations that pay homage to the seductively decadent theme of Le Boudoir. Some highlights from the cocktail list include- French 84- mix of French ingredients- St Germain Liqueur, Griottine juice and Mumm Champagne; “PornStar” Martini- Koskenkorva Vanilla Vodka, Honey syrup, fresh lime juice, passion-fruit puree, served with a shot of Mumm Champagne; “Lucky Star”- A Sazerac style cocktail mix of Appleton VX Rum, Absinthe and White Sugar; and Le Boudoir Bisous- Signature Boudoir made with Lemongrass, Beefeater Gin, Lavender Syrup, Creme de Cassis, Creme de Mure and Lemon.
In addition to the cocktails, other drinks served include a compact list of wines and champagne, plus a good selection of aperitifs, premiums spirits, single malts and digestifs.
Le Boudoir opens Monday to Saturday from 6:00 pm to 3:00 am, attracting a mostly after-dinner and late night crowd.
The extravagant opulence of the baroque themed interior includes whimsical decor elements in addition to the grandeur of the richly patterned wall coverings, chandeliers and plush furniture.
