Glamorous signature bar concept of W Hotels makes dazzling debut in Bangkok
March 20th, 2013
A recent addition to the burgeoning Bangkok luxury hotel landscape, W Bangkok has introduced the bustling metropolis to its signature design-centric and hip lifestyle concept of modern hospitality. Located on the lobby level of the newly constructed 31 story glass tower in the Silom-Sathorn office district, WOOBAR brings to Bangkok its signature entertainment and lifestyle experience, embracing fashion, art and music, harmoniously blended with exceptional mixology from the bar team. Occupying a generously proportioned space that melds seamlessly with the adjacent lobby and reception zone, WOOBAR showcases a cutting-edge contemporary design (created by acclaimed international design firm AvroKO) of bold originality that functions both as an all-day lounge space for relaxed conversations and libations, and as a hip, vibrant nightlife destination featuring local resident DJs spinning tunes late into the nights.
WOOBAR at W Bangkok has rapidly become one of the most sort after venues for hosting elite fashion events, product launches and cocktail parties. WOOBAR also host regular promotions, including the recently launched ” SHOW ME HOW TO AFTER WORK” a nightly promotion between 6pm and 9pm that offers Buy 2 Get 1 drink free, complemented by live sets from the resident DJs (promotion ends April 30th, 2013). Upcoming events are highlighted on the W Bangkok Facebook Page.
Sleek and contemporary- the ultra-stylish decor at WOOBAR exudes a modern chic.
The lounge section of WOOBAR features settings of both luxurious modern white leather sofas, and leather armchairs.
A slightly raised level across the far end of the room holds the VIP zone- a series of semi-private spaces- discretely shielded behind the curtains of gold metallic fabric ropes- referencing the local Muay Thai boxing culture.
The outlook from the VIP Zone- behind the ropes …
The glistening metallic gold ropes- a distinctive design element of WOOBAR.
The entrance to WOOBAR merges seamlessly with the adjacent Lobby Reception area. The spectacular crystal mural that extends across the wall connecting WOOBAR and the Lobby was designed by Thai artist Maysa Yanovan- and represent from Thai folklore the mythical creatures of the Himmaphan Forest.
Multi-hued LED lighting effects from the DJ console suffuse the space at night.
Over 80,000 individual Swarovski crystals were hand applied by a team of 3o local artisans to create the exquisite wall mural. The design displays a phoenix and tiger engaged in an epic battle using a style frequently found in tattoo art.
