WOOBAR DESIGN
Situated on a fabulous beachfront location at Seminyak on Bali’s popular south coast, WOOBAR stands independently from the main resort buildings- with a unique design that was inspired by the ocean. The creative contemporary design ( by acclaimed regional design firm Poole & Associates of Singapore) features a substantial circular construction over three levels, utilising raw concrete formed into curvaceous shapes, and with bold spaces featuring vaulted ceilings. An ingenious solution to shielding sleeping resort guests from the late night vibrant sounds of the club was to create a subterranean space under the beach- literally burying the club lounge and dance floor under the sand. Above, the circular main bar occupies the ground level of the building- with an expansive timber deck- punctuated by tall palm trees- that extends to the edge of the beach. A third level features an open-air rooftop space above the bar- dubbed WOOSKY– which functions as an additional all-day lounge space, or can be booked for private events, weddings and parties.
WOOBAR MIXOLOGY
Cutting-edge mixology is a key element in the WOOBAR concept world-wide, with each bar headed up by a talented resident mixologist. Signature cocktails are crafted using fresh local tropical fruits and ingredients to create an alluring list of colorful and refreshing drinks. In addition to selections of classic cocktails, the bar menu also features W WORLD WIDE MIXOLOGY– seasonal collections of popular cocktails from other W hotels across the globe. A full beverage service is available from the bar- with broad selections of wines, champagne, beers and premium spirits- plus non-alcoholic beverages- to satiate thirsts. Complementing the drinks, a bar bites menu of tapas-style dishes- featuring both Asian and Mediterranean flavors- is served all day.

WOOBAR stands independently in front of the main W Retreat & Spa building- with a timber deck area extending from the circular main bar to the edge of the beach.
The main entrance to WOOBAR – the ocean facing front of the main bar room can be completely enclosed by folding curved glass panels- protecting against monsoon winds and rain. The circular rooftop deck of WOOSKY offers panoramic views of the beach and Indian Ocean- and can be booked for private events and parties.
The design for the circular main bar takes inspiration from coral reefs- with custom-crafted cocktail tables also shaped to resemble coral. Overhead the massive 7 metre diameter fan slowly but effectively circulates the tropical air.

Dancing Under the Beach- at WOOBASE
A curving concrete staircase leads down from the main bar to the subterranean space holding the dance floor and spectacular Whisky Lounge.
Luxurious daybeds set into semi-private alcoves within the curved raw concrete passageway behind the bar.
WOOBAR Whisky Room- a glamorous space of soaring dimensions with a 7 metre high ceiling, and highlighted by a spectacular display wall of color- changing LED lighted bottles. The custom designed chandelier is crafted with Nautilus seashell shades- channeling the tropical ocean theme of the design concept.
The lower level WOOBASE dance floor- dramatically set within the voluminous space created by the double- height concrete vaulted ceiling.
The WOOBASE DJ console with LED light panels. The ceiling has an intriguing overlay- completely carpeted with individual, chromed conical shell shapes that radiantly reflect the LED lighting.
Large 2 metre aluminium- bladed ceiling fans, together with the raw concrete construction, give an industrial-chic vibe to the WOOBASE interior.
