Swank new rooftop bar & restaurant with panoramic views over the verdant forest of Bali’s Uluwatu Hills

A recent addition to Bali’s upscale bar scene, UNIQUE Rooftop Bar and Restaurant stands atop the stunning new Rimba Jimbaran Bali resort on Bali’s southwest coast. Set within a native forest landscape, Rimba Jimabarn Bali opened in late 2013 as the adjoining sister property of the widely acclaimed AYANA Resort & Spa. Contrasting with the dramatic clifftop ocean views enjoyed by AYANA and its iconic Rock Bar, the panoramic outlook from the rooftop UNIQUE bar at Rimba (named from the Indonesia word for forest) is across the verdant green landscape of the surrounding Uluwatu Hills.
Occupying an expansive double level space atop the main Rimba complex, UNIQUE offers a variety of spaces for guests experiences to transition over the course of the day and evening. A 25 metre angular shaped pool extends across the front of the main bar level, and with its open-air deck and array of daybeds evokes a daytime pool club vibe, and with a westerly orientation, is a wonderful spot for catching the sunset. Within the main interior spaces, both levels provide choices of seating- at recycled timber counters that look at across the pool and natural landscape, plus table and lounge settings for either dining or chill out. The mezzanine level offers some more intimate spaces and is also well suited for private parties and events.
Refreshments from the impressive bar include an appealing selection of tropical themed UNIQUE cocktails-mostly with an Asian-inflection- Tiki inspired drinks, “Fancy Martinis”, watermelon-based punches to share, and some decadent “Mature’s Milkshakes”. Other beverages include a large selection of champagnes and sparkling wines, premium spirits, beers, and healthy tropical fruit drinks. Complementing the delicious drinks, UNIQUE has a menu of gourmet bar bites, and for all-day dining, a list of appetizing dishes with an Asian provenance entices.
Attractive promotions at UNIQUE include the “Flirty Nights”– a ladies night concept held on Mondays and Thursdays- with a complimentary UNIQUE Crush cocktail at arrival, and priced at Rp80K for the entire night. Resident DJs entertain nightly.

UNIQUE design
Taking inspiration from its natural forest setting, Rimba deftly blends a contemporary design-forward aesthetic with nature-inspired materials and earth tones. Recycled timbers, stone flooring, and abundant terraced pools and ponds evoke elements of the Balinese heritage, while modern design influences are evident in bold, angular spaces and sleek furnishings.
UNIQUE cocktails
Designed for enjoyable drinking experiences, the tropical/Asian themed cocktails at UNIQUE offer drinks that are not only visually pleasing- but also taste great. Must try drinks include the Flower Power– rum, elderflower liqueur, mango, citrus, and dash of angostura bitters; or the Pomelo & Passion– with vodka, fresh pomelo and passion fruit, fresh lime and sugar. And from the UNIQUE To Share ( 4 to share) selections- The Watermelon on Tap is hard to go past- vodka, orange liqueur, vanilla syrup, and mint leaves and mixed and served from hollowed out watermelon shell.
UNIQUE Bar Bites
Among appetizing dishes that stand out on the menu are the Thai Red Duck Curry– with lychee, pineapple, chili and eggplant; Grilled Bumbu Bali Baby Chicken– with red rice stuffing, herbs and scallions; and Ramen– soft Japanese noodles in light miso broth, soft-centre egg, and confit pork.
