Bar@494 is a contemporary styled, intimate wine & champagne bar, located within the luxurious Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok in central Bangkok. Occupying a busy corner in the Lower Lobby, floor to ceiling glass walls on three sides create a spacious open feeling, with an outlook over a lush interior garden. Tables are also placed in the exterior walkway area, with a large screen LCD for catching up on sports or news.
The interior design features modern, sleek furniture combined with traditional Thai elements. A long hand carved timber boat forms the central
focus of the room- with textured mirror glass top tables spanning across the hull of the boat. Chairs are plush black leather and chrome. The lighting fixtures above the boat are created from traditional Thai woven bamboo fish traps, suspended from the ceiling within a tubular metal frame work . Rough finished timber floorboards give a rustic balance to the glass and polished chrome finishes of the interior fittings.
There is an extensive selection of wines and champagne by the glass at Bar@494– attractively priced from just Baht99 per glass. The leading wine regions of the world are represented on the Wine Bottle Menu- with quality vintage selections from Italy, France, Spain, Chile, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and California. For the cocktail aficionados there is a good variety of classic, and more exotic cocktails ( Fresh Apple Martini photographed). Designer brand coffees and non-alcoholic drinks are also served by the bar.
Bar@494 is a popular choice for light lunches- selected from either a menu of Asian dishes- noodle soups, steamed dumplings, Thai stir fried noodles- or home made pastries. Also available is an all day menu of western style bar snacks or tapas – including bruschetta, oysters, marinated olives, pizzas, crispy calamari & prawns, and salads. There are also season special offers- currently matching premium wines by the glass and oysters.
