Update January 2018: Marble 8 has relocated to Level 56, Menara Three, Petronas Towers.
Arguably the finest steakhouse in Kuala Lumpur, Marble 8 was launched in 2014 by high-profile local celebrity restaurateur Modesto Marini – the name behind the massively popular Marini’s on 57 rooftop complex of luxurious bar, restaurant and lounge. At Marble 8 he has created a sophisticated upscale steakhouse restaurant, complemented by the fashionable M8 Bar, and exclusive Prive whisky and cigar lounge, all catering to an elite and discerning local and international clientele. Occupying a repurposed commercial building on the fringe of the KLCC precinct, the restaurant is conveniently accessible to the downtown central business districts, and notable also for the superb views from across its garden setting towards the famous Petronas Twin Towers and city skyline. Modeled on the best of Australia’s high-end steakhouses, Marble 8 has an exclusive supply contract with one of Australia’s preeminent beef suppliers – air-shipping into Malaysia the finest cuts of Wagyu and Black Angus beef – and then dry-aged in the restaurant’s impressive glass-fronted aging room overlooking the main dining room.
Decor Set within a spacious double level building, Marble 8 features several distinct spaces and private rooms, exuding a comfortable and discreet atmosphere of understated luxury and sophistication. Accented with dark timbers and plush leather upholstered chairs, the main dining room contrasts with the sleek, contemporary decor of the adjoining M8 Bar. Overlooking the voluminous dining room, the mezzanine level houses both the outstanding walk-in wine cellar and luxurious Prive Lounge. Two elegant private dining rooms enjoy an outlook across the garden compound through full-height glass, each comfortably seating 8 – 10 guests. Outdoor garden settings offer a relaxed ambience in the evenings for after-dinner drinks.
Cuisine Prime cuts of imported Australian beef, dry-aged in-house, headline the steakhouse menu. A specialty at Marble 8 are the “bone-in meat” cuts for single serves, exemplified by the signature Tenderloin on the Bone – 350 grams of Australian Wagyu, seared and expertly cooked on specially imported grills. Other menu options include cuts of Wet-Aged Black Angus Beef, and a good variety of non-beef dishes including lamb, seafood, and pasta. Diners can order accompaniments from the list of side dishes that include Creamed English baby spinach, and Steak fries with truffle mayonnaise. And to finish, the dessert menu offers an enticing selection of classic dishes, elevated with modern technique and styling.
Drinks A destination in its own right, the M8 Bar boasts a sleek contemporary design, vibrant atmosphere with in-house DJ’s, and polished cocktail program. Highlighting the comprehensive drinks list, classic cocktails have been elevated by the M8 bar team with their own “Twist of the Classics” assemblage of signature creations. Popular classics such as Negroni, Mai Tai, Jungle Bird, and Caipiroska have been refashioned with creative infusions that add intriguing layers of complexity to their traditional taste profiles.
Open daily for lunch and dinner service (dinner only on Saturdays), and consistently busy, table bookings are strongly recommended. Refer to the Marble 8 Facebook Page for menu updates and special events and promotions.
