Newly opened Privé cafe at Asian Civilisations Museum – casual all-day dining with great city and river views
December 10th, 2015
Recently opened at the Asian Civilisations Museum on the Singapore riverfront, Privé ACM is the latest branch of the popular local cafe concept also found at Keppel Bay and Chijmes. The inviting all-day cafe serves contemporary cuisine with Western and pan-Asian influences – simple and well-priced dishes that have defined the enduring popularity of Privé cafes. Bright and uncluttered, the stylish interior blends contemporary design with nostalgic local references to create a casual atmosphere for comfortable dining and refreshments. An expansive outdoor terrace provides a laid-back setting to enjoy the panoramic vistas across the Singapore River to the CBD office district and vibrant Boat Quay promenade. Open all day, Privé ACM serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, together with enticing dessert, beverage and takeaway offerings.
Design Located in a prominent corner space of the ACM complex, Privé ACM comprises an air-conditioned main indoor cafe space, kitchen and serving counters, while the adjacent outdoor terrace offers inviting riverside table settings. Consistent with the contemporary casual-chic vibe of other Privé cafes, the interior features a clean, pared-back palette of white-washed walls, natural timber ceilings, cement tiled flooring and utilitarian timber fixtures, enlivened with pastel turquoise timber trimmings and table tops. Comfortably spaced, timber tables are matched with traditional-style cane chairs, referencing familiar elements of the local heritage.
Cafe Menu Diners at Privé ACM can expect an approachable menu of favourite local and Western comfort dishes. Fresh ingredients are cooked with a light and simple touch, served with generous portions and contemporary plating. Extensive selections on the separate brunch/lunch and dinner menus include salads, sandwiches, pasta and local noodle dishes, plus fish and meat dishes for mains, while cakes and indulgent desserts are a specialty. The drinks list offers a concise selection of wine served by the glass or bottle, together with local beers, while milkshakes, smoothies and fresh juices offer healthy refreshing choices. Speciality house-blend coffee is sourced from the artisanal third-wave local outfit, Common Man Coffee Roasters, while traditional local-style kopi and teh drinks cater to nostalgic tastes.
Privé ACM opens daily from 8:30 am on weekdays and Saturdays, and 9am on Sundays. Daily Happy Hour promotions between 5 pm and 8 pm offer special deals on drinks, and check the Facebook Page for details on seasonal menu specialties and events.
