Bistecca in Jakarta recreates a style of grill dining synonymous with the upscale New York steakhouses of the 1950’s – serving elevated renditions of classic Italian-American cuisine in an atmosphere reminiscent of the period. Launched in mid-2016 at an accessible location within the SCBD, Bistecca, with its elegant decor and premium quality steaks cooked in traditional Italian-style charcoal grill technique has become a popular destination for business lunches, after-work cocktails and refined evening dining. The meticulously recreated mid-century decor of dark timber panelling and flooring, plush fabric dining chairs, and white table cloths exudes elegance and an understated sophistication.
Cuisine Accomplished Chef Luca Pezzara deploys traditional Italian charcoal grilling technique to create flavourful steaks with crispy crusts and juicy, tender meat. An extensive selection of highest quality beef includes “Fiorentina” cuts of 60-day dry aged steak from the Chianina breed cattle native to Tuscany – plus cuts of grain-fed Australian and American Black Angus and Wagyu. In addition to the premium beef cuts, the menu offers classic Italian-American starters, homemade pasta dishes and grilled seafood. Traditional steakhouse desserts such as the tableside flambéd Signature Baked Alaska and Traditional Tiramisu are not-to-be-missed.
Wine & Cocktails A well-curated selection of premium Italian and international wines provides pleasurable accompaniment to the steakhouse dishes. At the handsome cocktail bar martinis are the house speciality – in addition to the Bistecca Classic Martini other classic varieties include the Gibson, Grappa Martini and Bistecca Chocolate Martini. Bistecca bartenders serve-up other classic Italian cocktails such as Negroni and Aperoal Spritz – while also crafting house-specialty cocktails with well-balanced tastes and a contemporary mixology sensibility.
Bistecca opens Monday to Sunday serving lunch and dinner. Table reservations are recommended. Happy Hour at the bar between 5pm and 8pm entices with its 2 for 1 offer on martinis.
