All-day coffee, dining & cocktails at city-fringe venue by team behind acclaimed 28 Hong Kong Street
April 30th, 2017
From the group behind celebrated Singapore cocktail bar 28 Hong Street – a new all-day venue with a focus on well-priced yet top quality coffee, cocktails and dining. Opened in January 2017, Crackerjack located along Tanjong Pagar Road targets a discerning clientele familiar with a contemporary culinary sensibility that embraces healthy, wholesome cuisine; progressive “third wave” coffee made with single origin beans and modern techniques – and accomplished yet approachable mixology from industry-leading bartenders. Set within a refurbished corner shophouse, full height windows and a clean, simple decor provide a relaxed and sociable setting for all-day dining – serving a variety of menus commencing with breakfast and transitioning through lunch and dinner to evening drinks and music.
Design The simple decor of bench seating and communal teak tables was designed to evoke a playful classroom experience – good for both working and sociable gatherings. And open-floor layout has the coffee bar at the entrance, a full-length bar that spans the rear wall, with the open kitchen adjacent. Bold colourful artworks from a local artist add visual highlights to the pared-back palette, while a solid timber shuffleboard offers a playful distraction.
Cuisine The menu created by Head Chef Alysia Chan offers a selection of dishes to suit different times of day and draws on both Asian and international culinary influences. Dishes range from the classic American breakfast of Mash-Bill Grits to a health-conscious Kale Salad, Local Barramundi, and sharing dishes like the Family Meal Whole Roasted Chicken.
Coffee & Cocktails Heading up the coffee program ex- USA Barista Champion Bronwen Serna has developed a custom espresso blend in a collaboration with a local specialist roaster, while “Third Wave” coffee includes pour-overs and cold brew. At the bar, Diageo World Class Singapore champions Peter Chua (ex-28 Hong Kong Street) and Zachary de Git (ex-Tippling Club) head up the cocktail program crafting a selection of flavourful and fun drinks. Craft spirits, homemade syrups and sodas are combined into an engaging list of flavour-forward drinks – arranged under categories – Highballs, Shaken, Frozen, Stirred, Crushed and Classic.
Crackerjack opens daily – Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 12 am – and on Sundays for Brunch from 10 am to 5 pm.
