Wallace Lau of Bar De Luxe takes out the Hong Kong championship

Wallace Lau of Bar De Luxe was recently announced as the La Maison Cointreau Hong Kong 2017 champion. He will now represent Hong Kong in the Asia finals to be held in Ho Chi Minh City at the end of October.
An outstanding 42 entrants enrolled from 28 bars across Hong Kong, and after the preliminary challenge “Project White Lady” where the bartenders had to come up with their interpretation of the classic cocktail using the original ingredients of either Cointreau or Cointreau Blood Orange. The top 15 bartenders then progressed to the Hong Kong final.
The final challenge, held at Happy Paradise tested the bartenders to create a cocktail serve based on their slashie/talent inspired by Rémy Martin One Life / Live Them campaign. The winning presentation cocktail from Wallace Lau – the Spiritual Shelter – comprised Rémy Martin VSOP, Mount Gay Black Barrel, Picon, Chocolate liqueur and a touch of Pimento dram. The well-balanced cocktail expressed rewarding complexity according to Jay Khan brand ambassador of Rémy Cointreau Hong Kong and Macau.
Awarded second and third place were Endy Ngai from Zuma, and Michael Cheung from Bar Butler respectively.
Other participating countries for the Asia finals will be from Singapore, Malaysia, Bangkok, Indonesia, Philippines, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and Vietnam.
