Offshoot of vibrant Hong Kong bar The Pontiac launched in heart of Bali’s upscale nightlife district
June 30th, 2019
Set to make waves within Bali’s sophisticated Seminyak nightlife enclave, The Pontiac Stardust (opened in early June) brings to Bali the hallmark energetic style of bartending that has proven immensely popular at its Hong Kong sister venue The Pontiac. Headed up by internationally celebrated bartender Beckaly Franks, the concept for The Pontiac Stardust marks an ongoing evolution from her West Coast bartending roots via the craft-dive bar vibe of the original Pontiac in Hong Kong – to the mid-century Palm Springs ethos behind the new Bali outlet. Together with her partners from Hong Kong – the Roopchand Brothers (behind popular venues such as The Pontiac, Rummin’ Tings and Amalfitana) – and the Singapore-based Dandy Partnership (Neon Pigeon, Fat Prince and Summerlong) – Beckaly and her local team have created a new destination on Bali’s party strip for progressive cocktail experiences – together with vibrant and playful nightlife.
At the bar, the cocktails are inflected with a tropical island resort/Asian character – using fresh local produce, locally distilled spirits – together with progressive bartending technique – to create a list of fun and refreshing cocktails. Options range from a Daiquiri slushy, a pandan-infused vodka concoction, and a tropical interpretation on the Americano – while friends can share the Mega Mojito.
Guests can choose between indoor seating at the bar or at comfortable lounge seating – or outdoors on the open-air terrace section. Additionally the adjoining sister venue – Flat Stanley – offers relaxed dining options with its flatbread pizzas and grill dishes. A shared DJ booth between the interconnected venues ensures an upbeat party vibe until late into the night.
