Vintage ballroom dance club reimagined as a glamorous cocktail bar & lounge

Renowned as an evening ballroom dance club destination since its debut back in the mid-1980s, Club 5 at the PARKROYAL on Beach Road has recently been reconceptualized as a retro-themed cocktail bar. Following a complete makeover, Club 5 now exudes the glamour and indulgence of the 1920s Art Deco period. Located within the eclectic neighborhood that includes Haji Lane, Arab Street, and Beach Road, the new bar takes inspiration from the multiracial culinary heritage of the area in creating a carefully curated cocktail list that takes guests on a journey of discovery.
The refurbished Art Deco-inspired interior features a decor replete with polished brass finishes, marble flooring, retro-lighting fixtures, and plush vintage leather and velvet furniture. Well-spaced seating options include luxurious sofas, armchairs and table settings, plus bar stools facing the impressive marble bar counter and brass-framed backbar.
In creating the new cocktail list Head Bartender Ong Jun Han took inspiration from Singapore’s rich culinary legacy by including local ingredients and spices in preparing his signature infusions and syrups. Signature cocktails follow a journey of discovery along local roads with drinks created to reflect the cosmopolitan influences of the neighborhoods. Notable examples include the Boogie Street – combining a smoky London dry gin, mezcal, apricot liqueur, and violette liqueur; and the spice inflected Nasi Lema’rgarita – housemade coconut tequila, spicy pandan syrup, lime juice, dry curacao, cucumber – served with peanuts and anchovies.
Club 5 opens daily between 11:00 am and 10:30 pm.
