Popular izakaya-style urban bar & eatery reopens with its familiar bold decor and modern cuisine
January 30th, 2021
In late 2020, after 5 years at its original home in the vibrant Keong Saik Road enclave of Singapore, popular Japanese-inspired urban izakaya Neon Pigeon relocated to larger premises on CBD-fringe Carpenter Street. Patrons are greeted by the striking street art-inspired wall murals sprayed across the interior walls – the creations of local visual artist ZERO. Within the expanded space, the upgrade of the bar area has been complemented with the addition of a new bar manager to oversee the Tokyo-inspired drinks program.
In the kitchen, newly appointed Head Chef Paul Lim (ex-Fat Prince) has elevated the adventurous menu of regional Japanese dishes with twists drawn from his Korean heritage. Adding a new Raw Bar to the Neon Pigeon dining options – guests can now order fresh plates of ceviches, tatakis, and carpaccios – or try the highlighted Kumamoto Oysters. Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner menus, feature familiar favorites – supplemented with new dishes – all served as Small or Large plates.
Cocktail aficionados will be rewarded with the new drinks list highlighted by signature cocktails that reference Japanese pop culture – crafted with premium Japanese spirits and ingredients. As previously, an impressive selection of sake offers ideal accompaniments for the Japanese dishes, while large-format cocktails served in punchbowls ensure convivial imbibing.
Neon Pigeon opens daily – now serving both lunch and dinner – while the newly launched weekend brunches feature free-flow packages. Reservations are recommended.
