Inspired by the vibrant era of pre-revolutionary 1940’s Cuba – with live Latin music and DJs
June 7th, 2022
Tucked away down a nondescript laneway off Bangkok’s Sukhumvit Soi 11 – long one of Bangkok’s popular nightlife precincts – Havana Social launched in 2015 as a Cuban-themed cocktail bar and nightclub. Its vintage decor transports guests back to the decadent nightlife of pre-revolutionary 1940s Havana. Nightly entertainment includes live DJs and musicians recreating the glamour and party vibe of the legendary Caribbean playground – with regular special events and promotions a feature at Havana Social.
In addition to the handsome timber bar – well-stocked with an extensive selection of premium rums – the high-ceilinged lounge space is overlooked by balconies where musicians perform Latin tunes live. A staircase leads to an exclusive upper-level cigar bar and lounge.
Havana’s drinks program is centred around rum-forward classic cocktails, with interpretations of famous Cuban creations such as Daiquiris, Mojitos, and Cube Libre. An attractively illustrated drinks list features sophisticated versions of the classic Daiquiri, and a selection of “pre-revolution” vintage cocktails elevated with aged rums and premium ingredients; while the “post-revolution” drinks include Peanut Butter Old Fashioned – made with peanut butter washed Wild Turkey 81 Bourbon. A well-curated list of superior labels and premium Reserva aged bottles caters to rum aficionados, while the well-stocked bar also offers single malts, craft beers, wines, and more.
Havana Social opens daily from 6 pm until late.
