Located in the Lower Lobby Level at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, the eminently stylish champagne and wine bar- Bar@494 – has recently added an extension, with the opening of a new room directly adjacent to the existing bar space. The new room features the same restrained luxury and functional design features of the main bar. Local natural materials provide a simplicity of form- dark timber floors, solid uneven blocks of stone for serving benches, and the centrepiece carved timber long boat and glass top tables. The woven fishing traps suspended above, within an elaborate metal framework, add an element of functional glamour. Fully glass encased wine display cellars highlight the multitude of bottles available.
The new room adds a further 30 seats to the overall capacity of Bar@494 and in addition to accommodating the strong demand for tables, also can be utilised as a private room for small functions and parties. Another addition to the Bar@494 facility is the creation of a new dedicated smoking room where guests can enjoy a cigar or cigarette in a comfortable lounge environment.

The growing popularity of Bar@494 can certainly be attributed to both the excellent value, and the large selection of wines available by the glass. The Wine by the Glass menu features a selection of 40 different wines- champagne and sparkling, red and white. Wines are sourced from the preeminent global wine producing districts- including France, Italy, Spain, Chile, South Africa, USA, Australia and New Zealand. All the wines can be ordered by the glass during the extended Happy Hours of 12 noon until 10:30 pm. With prices starting at THB 99++ per glass and ranging up to THB 299++ for wine and THB 949 ++ for champagne, there are selections to suit all budgets and palettes.
In addition to the Wine by the Glass offerings, a Tapas Menu is served from 5:30 pm ~ 10:30 pm, with a price of THB 100++ per plate for an extensive selection of classic tapas dishes.
